NEMOC Random BS Thread

Yeah, I wouldn't drive it in the winter. I've got snow tires on the MS6 for that. I saw a very poor example at a car meet many years ago. Parked next to some pretty sweet RX-7s and RX-8s the rust box became a magnet of conversation once people peaked under the hood. Anyway, I'm playing phone tag with the guy. Apparently he has another white one and he's selling this one to focus on finishing the restoration of the white one.

Dr said nothing serious, good news. Just bad muscle spasms. Take it easy and stretch, skiing is out for a week.

Which is a bummer since I was suppose to leave Sunday for 2 days at Mt Ste Anne.

hmmm , found a nice looking/body kit white 04 G35 from jersey ... can't wait to find out mileage and if its mtx on monday, question is to sell msp or keep it for winter ???

Holiday here as well, but I don't think you'll be celebrating Washington's birthday like us.

For the hell of it, I drove an 87 RX-7 yesterday that was listed for $2600. Definitely needed TLC but it was a florida car with no rust. I had trouble getting through the gears and the engine would cut out at about 4,000 rpm causing the car to buck viciously. Above 5,000rpm though, it whined like a puppy.

I'm still thinking about going down to look at that REPU. I'll have to borrow my Dad's Avalanche and rent a UHaul flatbed. Whether I buy it would depend on a) how comfortable I am behind the wheel, and b) how bad the rust is. If the rocker panel is the worst of it, that can be repaired. But if the rust has spread to floor and other parts, it probably isn't worth the effort.

morning, working today...it's a"floater" holiday here...no traffic!!!
Mahk were you interested in my other camera?
naw, looking at a canon rebel t2i

I have one o' them. It is a fantastic camera for someone getting started in the DSLR arena. It is versatile and a lot of accessories fit it. They are offering some really fantastic deals on them now that the t3i is out. The t3i is also very well priced. Make sure you upgrade from the standard lens though. The standard lens is an 18-55, and I upgraded mine to an 18-135.

I really hope it is worth the effort. I'd love to see what you do with that REPU. I've never seen one in person, and I know you'd restore it correctly.. The only concern I'd have is parts. I'd imagine they are few and far between. You'd probably have to do a lot of custom fabrication.

Good morning! I'm in the office like Mahk...floater Holiday. But that's ok though, traffic was pretty much non-existent on my drive in. :)

I did the same! I bought the kit with the 18-135 instead of the 18-55!

Got a presc for muscle relaxers but have not filled them yet. Back is doing much better. Probably won't bother.

Last couple of days are great here weather wise.

At least you have it on hand Bruce but hope you don't need to use them.

Off to IT to get the loaner laptop and wireless air card, hopefully I'll be done with it by next week.

I'm thinking early on Saturday. I will have to swing by Foxboro on my way to get my Dad's truck.

I've been looking up stuff this weekend and going through old threads on the REPU site. Lots of good examples on the West coast and plenty of people that know what works from other vehicles. Given the huge community of RX-7 tuners, drivetrain stuff is a non issue. Many body parts are interchangeable with the Ford Courier. I already found a source for a replacement carpet. Suspension bits seemed to be hashed out by others too with one guy offering a coil over setup. Given the car no longer has the stock engine, I would probably do a tuned/performance restoration opposed to an all-original. If the engine is in good running order I'll wait a while before tearing it down for a port/polish. That alone can bump the output significantly.

costco has the "kit" with the 18-55 and a 55-200 for 779

text me when you are going and let me know the addy...i'd like to see it too, if the schedule permits

hey, why is my mpg going up? the car is getting old, i haven't done anything to it this past season except to do the timing belt and brakes? could the brakes have been dragging that much? i've gone to 28+ this last fill up and my commute is the same...weird?

Good morning! This mild winter is killing me, I'm so tempted to swap the summer wheels onto the cars but it's just not warm enough...yet. It would be nice to get one good snow storm before the season is over.

I'm just glad we've had enough sun to melt the ice off the local mountain biking trails. I went for a ride on Sunday with some guys from the local bike shop. They ride a very fast pace. I kept up for about 30 minutes but after that I was lagging behind on the uphills. Ground was hard and fast.

Speaking of snow, I'm heading out to Utah with my Dad and Sis for some skiing. Leaving the 1st of March for a long weekend. I haven't been out there since college.
