uhh...but scrothe harnesses are SOOOoOO ugly lol
Today I installed the Unorthodox underdrive pulley and new belts. Since I already prepped the blocks aluminum fins, it only took about 30mins to swap them out. I read tons and tons of reviews on ProbeTalk.com and it seems like it's a 50/50 like/dislike on there. But then again, a lot of PT is just "well, my friend said this about _____ product...". I'm more into first hand experience. If you haven't seen the part in person then shut up. I love PT.com but damn there are a lot of newbs on there with bad information. Hell, I'm a newb but at least I don't run around saying s*** that isn't fact or based on real world experience. And I'm done with that rant, forgive me. Anyway, as I posted earlier, Josh welded the screws in the backin plate for me so they aint goin no wheres, yO! A lot of cats buy eBay pulleys, the screws come out and they b****. Well then don't buy cheap s*** and cry when it breaks. Oy. Anyway, so far so good with the Unorthodox pulley. I reset the ECU and let it idle about 5mins (which is still even at 700rpm) and ran down the street to McD's for a samich and soda with a WOT pull into 4th. Everything ran well and no surprises. Though I did stall it in the drivethrough line. haha! But that tells ya there is a difference in rotational mass. Or maybe I just stalled because I don't know how to drive. Regardless, I'll keep a close eye on my electrical devices and headlights to see if there is any problems with charging. Oh, I also noticed I didn't tighten the 10mm bolt holding my crank position sensor in place. It was loose. That would've sucked. Haha
Side by side comparison. I should've weighed them. The UR pulley is SO much lighter.

Here's a decent pic for future reference if anyone does get a pulley for their KL. These are the aluminum and plastic fins you need to shave down with a Dremel.

And I washed the dog and mowed the lawn. So I'm done for the day. It's freaking hot. heh-heh
Phen, I need to do a metric s*** load of research on harnesses first and see which ones are legal and which ones aren't. More research, yay! And Simon, how can you say Scroth harnesses are ugly? They are just super plain? Which is one of the reasons I like them, heh-heh. Takatas are stupid expensive anyway.
JK, like I said, I still love PT. And I know by now who knows their s*** and who is just trying to get their post counts up. heh-heh. No worries.
And Larry, yes my car is freaking ugly, I agree entirely with you there, buddy.![]()
The Schroth Profi ASM 4-points belts meet the NASA criteria as far as I can tell. The problem is they're just as, if not more expensive than a lot of acceptable 5-point systems out there.
+1 to not giving a **** how they look. Personally as long as they're black I couldn't care less what was on them...
I need to figure out the FIA regulations and such to make sure I buy harnesses that are legal, safe and okay to use for at least a couple years. No point on spending money and have them illegal for HPDE1 next year. heh-heh.
These ones are $200
And the Profi ASM 4-points are $280. I mean, ya can't really put a price on safety. I'm not too worried about dying but I want my instructor to be super safe. (knock on wood)
ps- Ivan, that's why N/A is fun. 2nd gear throttle blips are a hoot.![]()
I pulled that regulation out of the HPDE section of the rules.
Dude I used the pink! Your car and Ivans (former car) A sweet as hell. In fact the P5 is looking better and better to me all the time going to resist getting one though. We really have our heart set on a 6 wagon.
try to find a rare manual wagon.....they're the best!!!
