The Ohio Random Thread... aka We Should Probably Be Working

Good stuff Evan. Congrats!

I am trying to get promoted at my work as well. Have an interview tomorrow, in fact. When all the dust settles, I believe there will be three positions available with three people applying, so it should end in everyone being happy--me especially! Still won't be salary, though. That's my ultimate goal in the next year or two.

I can negotiate for you, we have ways of getting what we want.

Anybody local have some 15x8 or 16x8's in 4x100 for sale by chance?? No tires is ok..... if so, PM me, thanks! :)

I don't have donuts, but I hjad a friend of mine make 4 dozen Mazda Cupcakes for Road America. Red Velvet, with a vodka creme frosting, a double chocolate, with Chocolate icing, Yellow cake w/ tequila creme frosting and a carrot cake style with traditional icing. Have to remember to save for the Corral guests.

Congrats on the promotions Evan and Chippy!

Congrats on the promotions Evan and Chippy!

Evan what wheels did you end up getting?

Thanks! I ended up getting the 18x8 MSR Wheels

Here's a sneak peek, you guys can see for yourselves this Sunday. I don't really wanna ***** Victoria out too much...unless you guys love ******

I'm still debating if I like the polished lip or not. I might end up painting it black or red. I also need to get new lug nuts. These cheapo Gorilla lug nuts from Summit are "Anodized," but the red is chipping off more and more every time I change wheels.

It will look a lot better once I do something about the suspension (hopefully coilovers) and get rid of that gap. I haven't had any rubbing issues...yet...but I also haven't driven the car with any extra passengers. It looks like I might not have an issues.

The wheels and tires have about 2,000 miles on them. I used a tread depth gauge and the Yokohama S-Drives are at a little more than 9/32" (brand new is 10/32"). I've never heard anything about S-Drives. Are these decent summer tires? I'm trying to decide if I want to run these tires on the track. Thanks!

tom has them on his RX-8, they're a good touring tire, not so much for track use, but for DD. I know the kid you got them from, used to auto-x with us.

If they're not very good for track use, I think I'll just daily them. Then...kill the Kumho tires on the RX8 wheels at BeaveRun. I'll have to measure the tread depth on the fronts, it was dark when I put the new wheels on but the front Kumhos didn't feel like they had a lot of tread left. Do tracks normally have a minimum tread depth restriction?

That's pretty cool. He just got a 95 Miata from Florida as his new track toy. I told him we're a pretty active Mazda community and to drop in on some events.

No, the leass tread the better, as long as you haven't corded the tires, you are good to go.....The S drives side walls are too soft IMHO for track driving, I am sure that Tom will concur.
