The Ohio Random Thread... aka We Should Probably Be Working

I was informed this morning that I should be moving off third shift to seconds at the end of August (more realistically October the way s*** moves around here..)

After 5.5 years of it, I'm done.

It means a little less pay, no Saturdays, but hey, I should be able to go to more stuff finally...

Ganna remember how to play?

Like riding a bike, buddy.

Jon, 5-1/2 years of 3rd shift? Wow. I worked 3rd for 6 months and I was shot. Congrats and welcome back to the sunlight, mate. Larry, how long have you been on 3rd shift?

yeah. i started on thirds in January of 2006. In Nov of 2009 I switched groups, so I had a 3 month dayshift "training" period, but then right back to nights in Feb of 2010. The first month or so of that 3 months was far worse then the original transition to thirds, so we'll see how this goes.

Our second shift is 11:30a-10pm, I'll be on Wed-Sat. So, its essentially a late first shift.

Only about 4 years. I am either used to it or on the verge of a psycotic episode.

Jenny and I make it work. We are both on 3rd. The part we hate is that our weekends seem too short due to sleeping part of friday away to act like a day-person then sleeping part of sunday away to get back to being a night person.

I work Tuesday-Friday nights, from 9:30p-8a

What I do is stay up for 24+ hours on Tuesday, with a 1.5-2 hour nap around 1pm (when our daughter naps). During my work week I'm home at about 8:30, in bed by 9:30. I get up at 4:30. On Saturday mornings I get up at about 2pm, then I'm back in bed at 11pm.

It works for me, but I'm not sure what I'm gonna do on seconds. Since I only sleep like 6 hours a day now, I'm essentially going to lose 2+ hours a day to sleeping....

Oy. lulz

My buddies asked me to sit in on bass for their band (The Uncanny Xela) at the Great Lakes Burning River Festival July 23rd. I'm pretty stoked. They are great muscians and I miss playing out live. There will be lots of beer there, guys. ;)

I think I can handle that...

actually no, it's to support the US olympic team

Yeah, I got a few emails about that. I've driven 650ci's before. Amazing exhaust note. They're nice cars but by no means worth the money to buy one. That being said... you can have quite a bit of fun in one.

Nice dude. Definitely hoping you can make some events.

I can't wait to be done working from 10pm to 7-8am and going to college full time at the same time. This summer has been great so far. Back to reality in August. SOB.

It's Alive!!!!!!!!!!!!! but i need to track down a boost leak. Reads at -15.

Yay, Nate! Did you yell "It's ALIIIIIVE!" in your garage too? I hope you can get her sorted out for the cookout. I want to dry hump your car again. And maybe we can have a silver/CF shoot.

I yelled it from the drive way...I was a little scared so I did the remote start the first time while holding a fire extinguisher.

Lol I was a bit worried when we started Kevin's up after his swap. I don't think there were any fire extinguishes in the garage at that time, so Evan grabbed the garden hose. Water is not what you want to fight a grease/car fire with!

I don't know if it would have done any good any way, it's from 1986 but I figured it couldn't hurt.
