Just wanted to introduce myself, just bought an 03 Mazda Progete5 with 137k miles 5 speed.

Runs good, the only problem is that it idles funny at times, but I'm getting check out on the weeknd and hopefully is nothing major. Any recomendations?

Previously had an 95 240sx s14, so P5 are completely different.

Here are the pics.

Future mods: MazdaSpeed3 wheels and coilovers for now. Maybe other stuff down the road, now I just want to put gas and change oil lol ... spent to much on the s14 now i have to recover

Congrats on the purchase and welcome. Your idle issue could be the EGR. They are prone to carbon build-up.

You are on the right path for mods, the suspension is where these cars shine. I do like the MS3 wheels but they are just so heavy and you have to run rubberbands for tires (215/35/18). Which gen speed3 BTW?

Nice car!! I was supposed to test drive that car this past weekend but was never able to talk to the dealer guy..

I will definetely look at the EGR and get it cleaned out hopefully that will help...

The wheels I'm talking about are these:

BUt Im definetely looking for other setups but not for now ... I'm keeping the stock ones until the tires are bad

Those are the 1st gen and are nice but so damn heavy. If you want to keep that stock look but with a twist, any 5 lug Mazda wheel will fit but some require the use of spacers. I've had 2005 Tribute wheels and now 2006 MX-5 wheels on mine (replaced my stock wheels when I needed new tires and did the same with the Tribute wheels). ;)

That's right...pepox369 was supposed to test drive that white P5. Glad someone winded up with it. It seemed like a pretty good deal.

Also about the idling...may want to check to see if the intake pipe is cracked. Those run about $30 shipped on Amazon and are eazy peezy to install.

Welcome and congrats on the purchase! :)
