yet another turbosmart bov question

so i installed the valve 2 days ago looks very good however no matter what i try i can not get rid of flutter, the only time it will not flutter is when giving it a good amount of gas and say over 5psi, my question is, is the flutter at low boost and vacuum bad? and is there anything i can do to fix it? i have it almost set on the softest setting as of now

I dont have a turbosmart bov i have a type s greddy and from what i have read about bovs on our cars is that most all of them have some sort of flutter. I experience my flutter when i am at lower rpms and i give it more gas to accelerate. When i am at say 3 grand and i accelerate hard it is a nice clean blow off. So i would say you are ok as long as it is not fluttering under wot and it is not fluttering all the time.

I love the way it sounds when it flutters...it's just NOT enough pressure for it to go full blow off so it's completely normal. as for your adjustments, just go full soft, then do 3 full turns and it should be perfect...atleast that's the way my is...

I started out with the hardness right in the middle. To set this, you tighten the knob all the way to full hard then loosen it three full turns. With this setting, go for a test drive and listen to the valve’s operation. You should be getting a nice even release of air with a 2nd gear WOT pull (pick a good road for this and watch the speed limit). If you are getting a fluttered release, loosen the valve in quarter turn increments until you hear the right valve release. When you are satisfied, take it out on the highway and go through the gears and listen to the valve (again watch your speed). This is a good time to take note of your max boost pressure if you have a gauge. If everything is set right, all gears should have a nice even release and your max boost pressure should be normal and holding. At this point, you can make minor adjustments to dial it in right where you want it.

The way you have quoted from another thread is NOT recommended....even Turbosmart recommends going from full to no pressure and increaase gradually from there by way of having the throttle blimped to ensure the piston isn't opening under light load and from there a few 1/4 turns...fluttering according to TS is normal in this type of BOV/BPV.
