Just bought some Rotas off the old Wheeldude website (Rota boost, 17x8/35; thanks Dan!). I ended up swapping the 205/40 tires i had on the car before and they look hella stretched on the 8" width. I dont like how it looks. I have like 4-6 months left on the tread but i dont know if I can wait that long before i get some new ones...

so, with an 8" wide wheel should i go with a 215 or 225 tire? Pics would help. I'm not really proud of how my car looks right now, so i'll post pics once i get the new tires.

pics? Just wondering if going 45 is too thick a tire. I know going with 225 I have no choice.

Thanks!

215/45-17 is the stock size from the MSP. an alternate would be 215/40-17, which will be ever so slightly shorter.

For an 8" wide rim, I would go with 225. Why increase the wheel's width just to go with factory spec tires optimal for a 7" wheel? Just be mindful that you may need to remedy some rubbing.

I would do 225 because I have 17x7.5 and I am running 215 and they could use a little more width. 225 wil fit perfect, but you might rub...

Good point...
