Wheel Spacers

Been following the aggressive and wheel spacer thread so I decided to test some 15mm hubcenteric spacers from my buddy's parts bin.

That looks REALLY good, I was never much of a fan of the stock rims, but that looks great.

Also I read some people saying 5 mm you need extended studs. Will I be alright without? I do not want a wheel falling off!!!

Actually, looking at a bunch of sources today, and tirerack's price of $92.00! I think I'm going to pick up Hankook Ventus V12 evo K110's instead. :)

My wheels are delivered, so I'm going straight from work to go double check that they have room to fit the hubcentric 15mm spacers, and I'm going to buy those tonight, hopefully! Stoked!

You'll be fine with 5mm. Once you go 8-10mm you need extended studs.

Ractive those look SWEET!!!! Rear fenders look close tho....hurry up and let us know if the tire rubs!

I can answer that for him.... yes, the tires rub. I know cuz I put on 10mm spacers and mine rub, even after some rolling of the fenders. More aggressive fender rolling will happen this weekend. Although I have 215/45 tires. A lower profile tire might work.

With stock racing harts??? i noticed u have different wheels....

The wheels I have on now with the spacers are different than the ones in my sig. I have oem Miata rims that are 17 x 7 x 55mm offset, just like the RH's.
I am dropped about 1" from stock and run stock size 215/45-17 tires. I have rolled the rear fenders a little but still rub, so am going for a more aggressive roll job soon. Here's are pics of the new setup.

it looks sick in person. gives the car a much meaner look. especially since its tucking

Looks good, Thomas (thumb) My brother picked up the 10mm Ichiba Spacers for the RH's, he was afraid the 15's would be too much. I like em though....

i am thinking about picking up 10mm spacers. wonder if they will rub? i am lowered about 1.5"

take a flat stick like a popsicle stick... put it up against the sidewall of your tire and stick it up inside the fender... get a wooden ruler and measure the distance between the popsicle stick and inside of the fender... take into account the thickness of the popsicle stick or whatever flat surface you are using

i did this similar method when figuring out what size spacer i needed for my mazda3 rims... i ended up picking up 20mm spacers... the bolts didn't clear the spacers so i put another 5mm and now it's hella flush... it was either that or drilling space where the stock bolts where hitting the rims... i did end up drilling one rim to see how hard the work would be... wasn't to bad... but 25mm on all four corners worked out perfectly

I'll be installing an Eibach pro-kit and the 10mm spacers on my brothers car in the next week or so, Ill update in this thread with pics...

^^If u go with 10mm spacers dont forget extended studs. I say go 15mm.

Of course :) The Ichiba spacers come with extended studs. I believe my brother decided on 10's because he didnt want the risk of rubbing in the rear with the lowering springs. Its his new daily, and the rear clunk is already pissing him off, Lol.
