Cheapy pads for my broke a$$

I've read all the positive feedback on hawks and OEM pads, but I have little funds and will not be near a track again anytime soon. I was looking at Duralast, Wagner, and Wearever mainly because they are around $50 for front pads. They are all ceramic and claim OE performance. Anyone have any experience with these pads and/or problems. Opinions welcome, but I don't have $200 to spend on pads so price and performance have equal value to me right now. Although I vowed to never to put cheap parts on this car, it looks as though I might have to.

Duralast pads last forever but are horrible pads
they eat away at the rotors since they are actually harder then the rotors themselves
never heard of the other ones but just be careful before buying

i went to my local auto zone and bought the pads there. i didnt have much money either..i think they were duralast or something like that. and im at 85k with the same rotors. just dont got from like 100mph to 0 in 3 seconds and youll be fine. if they were that bad for your car they wouldnt be in business.

thanks, the last thing I want to do is buy something that will end up costing me more to fix what it brakes.

there is always cheap people out there, and people who dont know any better

how long have u had the pads on there?

i guess this would be my third set of pads....original....then ive done 2 bake jobs. the ones now have been on for about 10,000 miles maybe...about a year

Don't expect the same braking at all with those pads. Even the factory Volvo replacements that fit don't cut it. Doesn't make sense to have a car that goes but can't stop.

does he have a ms3 or a p5 ? its in the ms3 section i know but he had the icon of a p5 in his sig.

Sorry, shouldh've asked with last post. But ceramic is better by emitting less dust, but the hps is better by better braking quality?

You might want to try the MEYLE Ceramic front brake pad set. I'm pretty sure you'll spend around $50.00. I changed front brake pads on my 04 mazda 3 and i can't complain. I didn't spend a huge amount of money and my cars is running great. The pads are not loud either. So i would recommend these. I bought them at qeautoparts.com. Try it out and believe me you will not be disapointed. Good luck!

Woah, called autozone on pads and what not, and they said that the duralast pads are lifetime warranty? Even the ceramic ones. $55

I still think I might go with the hawks... Stupid? (again, it's only the rear brakes right now)

Don't forget, something has to wear. If it isn't the pads, it'll be the rotors. There is no free lunch.

A lot of places still do no realize that the Speed3 and Mazda3 are different. So watch out on that one.

Just be sure that you get pads for the mazda SPEED 3 not the regular 3. Autozone, pepboys, and oreillys don't seem to know there's a difference. Maybe someone who has actually successfully purchased a set form one of those big box stores can post a correct part number?

Yeah, I'm not going to autozone, It's all going to come from tirerack (shocks, rotors & pads) think it's around $410 for everything shipped.
