Antoine @ Petit Le Mans / Road Atlanta...?

Meh, it's just one of those things. With the season finale just 2 weeks away, would you want to risk millions of dollars of team equipment on a still VERY wet track with standing water... in the dark? As anti-climactic as it was (and it was, because I waited the whole time hoping to see the Audis lay the smack down on the Pugs in the wet), I think they made the right call.

Just got home myself. Most memorable moment of the race itself was the one Pug spinning out on turn 1, on the bloody pace lap! Good job you dumbass!

Anyway, I had a great time! Thanks Muff for putting us up for a few days. I can't wait till the 24. Had an amazingly fun time at the BBQ place yesterday for dinner. That waitress was damn cute. I'll admit, she pretty much would have been an extreme weakness of mine if I didn't live 600 miles away. Haha. Not only was she damn cute, but she could sure dish out some s*** talking!

Oooh well, I'll be pulling my pictures off my phone sometime tomorrow so I'll post up a link to pics when I can.

lol you just liked her because she a) had that southern drawl and b) wanted to give you a pearl necklace HAHAHAHAHAHA

I had a really good time, and I can't wait to see what we can put together for the 24 :D

OMFG. I was biting my tongue soooo hard at the necklace thing. As well as the comment about girls needing their protein. So many bad comments came out at dinner. I haven't laughed that hard in a while.

Randy DID say that driving the S60s was like getting into a space ship... and they definitely sounded the part. And hoh muh gawd, Pligrim's launch was absolutely brilliant. Even with the added weight penalty those 2 cars (when they're not blowing out center diffs) are the class of the field. Only 1 car, the Whelen's Corvette, was within any kind of reasonable distance to Pilgrim's car for most of the race until his rear tires went off in the last 10 or so laps. Man, what a fun time.

That said, Jen's not feeling 100%, and it's already raining at the track, so I think we may just be watching on the TV today.

BTW, for anyone interested, Marlon, Stephen (SATimko) and I have been planning a very similar, if not far more expansive and bad @$$ bash for the Daytona 24 (go SpeedSource! lol) for this coming January. More details on that will be forthcoming in the next month or 2 I imagine, but start planning ahead of time ;)

*Mental note: Submit vacation request for the Daytona 24 tomorrow. ;)

I think some of the FL S2K guys go to the 24 race as well. Should be fun tiemz, yo!

This wasn't the place just down the street from Road Atlanta was it?

All in all it was a great weekend, thanks to Andrew for hospitality, it was fun just shootin' the shizznit with you! We'll be setting up the the 24 over the next couple of weeks, as I want us Mazda owners to have the largest turnout ever!

So we are going to be hitting this hard and fast, so we can get some competitive pricing for our membership! Of course I will be working with Grand-Am and all of the Mazda teams in both GT and KONI. For those who may not have heard, Team Sahlen will be running 2-RX-8's........So we will have 5 of them running in GT, plus we may have a few others coming out as well.

So stay tuned for updates....

One thing we all forgot to mention, is that we're the first to see the new Tri-Point Mazda 3, which will debut @ Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca. Craig Nagler showed us the final livery for the car and it looks sweet!

Looking forward to heading out to Cali to checking it out in person, next week.

Also, I spoke with Steve Focazio @ Grand-Am, he is excited about our proposal for the 24 Hours of Daytona. We will be meeting this weekend @ VIR and finalizing a few things. It is looking very good for Daytona, very good indeed!

Awesome! Sounds good Marlon.

Oh, did you submit the request for an autographed pic from McSpeedy for Ginny Lynn?

Sent the e-mail last night, as soon as I get it, I will mail it out to her. from Hey, hey with love!

I ended up crewing for King Rat Motorsports, which meant a bit of wrenching on the car and great access to shoot at Road Altanta!

Here are a few pics from Friday's race, two of Saini's #74 Tri-Point Motorsports car crossing the finish in the dirt, and one of our King Rat IS300 entering T11. I have lots more but unfortunately have about 16GB of photos to process from PLM.

Enjoy!
