For those that didn't get to come...here's a vid that I shot of the ALMS putting in some practice runs yesterday afternoon.

I'll be there. I'll be around spectator hill and turn 6&7 for most of the day. I'm parking my white speed3 out in the spectator hill parking. I wasn't sure where the Mazda corral is at.
I will try to make it to the main paddock. I know most of the speedtv wc cars are in the support paddock outside the infield. I will shoot you a text in a few mins

Shoulda called and hung out with us today. Got to meet a bunch of the drivers and hung out in the horton autosport tent a lot of the day. I am camping over by turn five just look for the orange tent by the woods or my blue talon/eclipse
Ohh yeah fer serial. Only one day in and thus far this is unlike any other petit I have been to. Shaping up to be the best...just missing the Club5 crew

The GT3 Challenge race was excitement like you wouldn't BELIEVE!!!
They were glued to the edge of their seats! (because if they weren't, they'd have fallen over LOL)

So now I am kind of wishing I would've gone just because I want to see that RSR Jag. Just saw it on a car news feed. Oh well... maybe next year. That or I can just drive by and park my car on the road and just say it's broken down and watch the little hill at the end... lol. I live so close I can still hear them running at night.
If you would have come to just see that you would have been disapointed. The jag is here but has run only 4-5 exhibition laps at half speed. They won't be actually racing it till laguna seca. Fwiw it does sound awesome.
The two big sexy cars from yesterday though were the mercedes mclaren slr race car from trg, if torque had a sound asigned to it that's what it would sound like.
The other was the trg k-pax volvo s60's....OMG!! Pilgrim went from 4th to 1st within the first 100-200ft of the race. It sucks pobst went out in the first couple laps with a center diff failure however he did a nice sideways drift up turn5. And speaking of which when they would get back on the throttle all you heard was turbo spool up and the car was gone.
Randy DID say that driving the S60s was like getting into a space ship... and they definitely sounded the part. And hoh muh gawd, Pligrim's launch was absolutely brilliant. Even with the added weight penalty those 2 cars (when they're not blowing out center diffs) are the class of the field. Only 1 car, the Whelen's Corvette, was within any kind of reasonable distance to Pilgrim's car for most of the race until his rear tires went off in the last 10 or so laps. Man, what a fun time.
That said, Jen's not feeling 100%, and it's already raining at the track, so I think we may just be watching on the TV today.
BTW, for anyone interested, Marlon, Stephen (SATimko) and I have been planning a very similar, if not far more expansive and bad @$$ bash for the Daytona 24 (go SpeedSource! lol) for this coming January. More details on that will be forthcoming in the next month or 2 I imagine, but start planning ahead of time

Been home for about an hour now left right as the race was being red flagged. Still got in enough of the race and action to make it well worth it. The tdi cup race this morning was hilarious as well. Now I just have to start counting the days until next years race.
