2009, 2010 dilemma!

So here is my latest dilemma:

I contacted a local dealer who has a 2009 Black Sport MS3 for $20,000 even. New, 20 something miles. It seems like a great deal to me, but I really would prefer a GT, or 2010 with the tech package.

Suggestions? Does the 2010 have enough to offer to warrant the 5-6k price difference?

UPDATE:

I was able to get a quote for $24000 for the 2010 with tech package, which is what I am looking for, so as soon as my POS old car is gone, Im jumping alll over this. Thanks for the input everyone!

Negative....there will always be something about the original edition and, the 09 is the most improved of that breed. Very little really wrong with the car and what is, is easily rectified and is still a problem on th 10 car.

Well -- I'd look at like this; I like what the 2009 has the the 2010 doesn't -- a pleasing exterior (I'm talking about you smiley front end).

Tough choice; are there any other dealers in your general area that may have a 09 GT somewhere? Might be worth the drive to get what you want at a better price.

good luck

Pretty much a no-brainer in my book. Get the '09.

Why do you want the GT package? With the exception of the HID lights and LED tails, it's pretty much a waste in my book. The leather bolsters will show wear really quick and are prone to tears. The bose system is beyond pathetic and should be replaced anyway. rain-sensing wipers? please!

$20k is a steal. The '10 model has a better interior and, though I feel the exterior will eventually grow on me, the past gen embodies the spirit of the car (sleeper) better imo. The tech package in the '10 is somewhat cool (with the exception of the ridiculous nav system) but certainly not worth the extra $5-6k! Think about the mods you could buy with that money!

If it were up to me I'd get the 2010. I like the Alcantra seats in the GT too much to even think about the sport model '09. The Bose system doesn't suck if you get a new head unit and it actually sounds really good. I am really impressed with the way it sounds with my DVD/Nav head unit; very good bass response and much louder.

the stock sport speakers sound great with an amp and headunit. ihave infinity kappas that were going to replace my sport speakers but i have yet to install them b/c the sport speakers soounds so damn good...so im riding them out until they blow and keeping the kappas in the box

back on topic...the 10 is more refined, slower, but the design its def more aggressive looking than the 1st gen but the front is hideous.

with that being said...i would get my 09 all over again.

plus should be around to get an 09 OTD between 20-22k(GT) by now. i got my Sport OTD for 21,5k back in Oct.

Rain sensing wipers FTW! I love mine. I'd say the GT isn't worth it though... you get all the same performance equipment in the sport. I would get a 2010 if the price isn't dramatically different...

I'm in the minority of those who like the looks of the '10, but the price difference would be enough for me to go for the 09.

Go with the 2010 the 07-09 is dated already, but the price would probably steer me towards the 2009.

F that! Everyone I know with a GT turns it off due to its inaccuracy. It's a novel idea but doesn't fit the car's personality at all. So you want to row your own gears but you can't even turn on your own damn wipers? Even if it was a cool feature to have... the $1800 premium isn't justified.

I DID forget about the Alacantras though. They're pretty badass indeed and, for some, reason enough to go GT. I have an '07 so they weren't even available...

I'd grab that Sport for $20k & spend the extra $4k on mods. You can mod it to make it more like a GT (HID's, LED tails, stereo upgrade) and fix factory shortcomings (MM, shifter bushings, BPV, CAI/SRI to start) and still probably won't spend the whole $4k (unless you go balls out on the stereo upgrade).

Rain sensing wipers suck. I'd kill for good ol INT. Seriously. In light rain, I wind up just putting it on slow constant. Otherwise there's way too much water on my windshield by the time the damn things do anything. I don't **** around when I'm driving in the rain.

Best reasons to get a GT- seats, 6-disc changer that plays MP3's, remote doors, and other little amenities, but they can keep their damn automatic wipers.

Yeah I like the things like the anti theft deterrent system and trip computer with mpg/avg mgp/ constant, etc as well. Only the 07' sports had a way of unlocking the trip computer as far as I know. The seats may just be partial leather but they look a hell of a lot better adding to the over all appeal of the car. The Bose audio only sucks if you blast it up all the way, I know there’s better out there but it’s not horrible of a stock system.

I have a rain sensing right arm. It starts raining, right arm moves hand downward and contacts wiper control. You think that's cool? My left arm senses turns before I make them. That's right BEFORE.

Interesting... I've never had any frustrations with inaccuracy of my rain-sensing wipers. They always go at a comfortable speed for me *shrugs*
