best setup for these wheels...

I am not really familiar with tire sizes and offsets to be honest. just wondering if u guys could help me out.

i wanted to get a set of volk te37s 18x8.5.

what would be the best tire size and all to get without having any rubbing issues?

235/40R18 should get you by without having a stretch tire.

Just guessing and I'm sure there are limited choices -- +45 or so.

+48...but honestly...the 8.5'' is a little wide. why not got 8'' instead and you can have more offset choices and better use a 225 and 235 tire.

IMO 235/40 tire and 45-42 offset. TE37s are timeless classics.

An 8 inch wide wheel is plenty wide for our cars especially if you don't want to rub.

You really wont be gaining any performance with an 8.5'' You are adding unsprung weight for sure. Any performance gains to be had will require wearing 245's + tires.

Just got 8.5 and run 235/40 tire. It's not that hard to roll fenders or get them rolled. Or you can get 225/40 tires and not rub. I'm running RX-8 wheels with 225/40 tires and all the way down on BC coilovers. I've had 3 guys weighing 185 lbs each in my back seat and I've never rubbed.
