question about the cobb access port, can I run VTA BOV

With the cobb ap, can you run your BOV vent to atmosphere? Just wondering if this is one of the options, or maps available. I have an HKS BOV that I am currently running recirculated, and would really love to VTA. I think it will sound so much better!

Can you do it, yes. Should you, no. As far as I know the CP-E standback allows you to vent without issues because it cuts fuel. I never heard of the ap doing this.

I believe they have maps for VTA game calls. Just pick one up from Gander Mountain or Cabellas or your hunting store of choice and mount to the flange. The added backpressure from the call is required for the car to run properly with the map. Goose and elk calls work as well as duck and a lot of guys run all three and just switch them out in parking lots while cruising for girlz. Cobb is coming out with one specifically for the AP that makes real fart noises SWEET.(nana)

heres my old set up http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VbNxugO-uf0 upgraded to full crow call recently though NO MORE BACKFIRE OR SPUTTERING plus everyone LOVESSSSS it and adds 10%HP/MPG!!!!!(laugh)

I've read Wurf's post probably 5 or 6 times and it cracks me up every damned time. Good stuff.

I mean this in the nicest of ways: you are one twisted human being.

I'm still here(hand) I thought I asked a stupid question or something??? Didn't realize it was an inside joke.

Sorry man - honestly just goofed on you because I couldn't help myself. There's been so much debate around here about VTA is rice or not rice or whatever and some people take it really seriously.

I personally don't get why people like the sound so much, especially at the expense of power and a lean backfire, but to each his own. If you like it enough to spend money on an AP to tune it so it runs right VTA then more power to you.

What we need now is a local MS3 group to go on a POWER TOUR or some similar cruise event. Have every member run a game call on their BOV or alternately their BPV. I think you could put a hose on the exit end of the game call and run it back into the TIP so the sound echos inside the TIP. Now THAT is a twisted idea.

Imagine instead of a group of thundering Harley Davidson's or V8 domestics looking so tough and sounding mean roaring through town, you have a buzzing, quacking, honking, maybe even fart sounding group of MS3's making everybody laugh as they shift gears. I bet people would wonder what the hell is going on.

You don't even have to get an aftermarket BOV. Just stick that duck call up your ass and fart. The hard part is timing the fart with your upshift, and of course there is also the smell issue.

Coming back to reality, I think the undercurrent of the responses is that runnign VTA on a MAF engine is a bad idea.

There's another long thread here (at least one) with the raging debate. IMHO, it's just bad for these engines. The last thing in the world you want is for your engine to run even richer, especially when you upshift and hit the engine with a full load right after having dumped some of the precious already metered oxygen out through your noise maker rather than into the engine where it belongs and where the ECU thinks it is going.

One member of this board has personal knowledge that VTA users consistently dynoed lower that recirc cars with the same mods on the same dyno and that most of those guys saw the light and switched to recirc mode.

Returning to the humorous side, it's better to stick the duck call up your ass and fart that lose the power and run even richer than we already do, IMHO.

These MZR DISI turbo engines run so rich (as previously stated) that I would be more leary about what the long-term, consistently rich conditions are doing to my plugs than trying to get a sweet sound. Just my $0.02.
