I finally did it too!!

Found a nail in one of the rear tires. Tried to repair it myself with a kit but still leaked. Pulled the wheel off and took it to a garage and they fixed it.

Sigh.

Damn nails. I have a screw in my OEM tire. It's still in there. Surprisingly it never leaked.

Adjusted the clutch today. Only been meaning to do that for the last 20k.

Starting to look at new tires. MX's are BO and looking at the new Kumho XS. Seems to be better than MX in the dry but a little worse in the wet. But only 12 bucks more than the MX.

Got some scalloping on the right rear, going in for a wheel alignment on Tuesday.

what exactly did you adjust on the clutch?

On most clutches you can adjust the "throw", or how far to push the clutch pedal in before it starts engaging/releasing the clutch. Mine was a little close to the floor.

The pedal is attached to the clutch slave by a threaded rod. You can adjust the rod and then retighten the locking nut. I adjusted it so it enaged a little higher up.

I'd go with Dunlop Starspec Bruce. Amazing grip, great price, and James can hook you up with a price since he sells them. Or Bridgestone RE11 are rated better for smaller cars. Anyways, just my two cents. And you coming up this sunday then? What about SCCA..you can run with them or BMW club you know. :)

Can't make today. Oncall.

Thanks for the info. RE 11 are about 50 bucks more per tire. The Dunlops are interesting, just a little more than the XS's. Will check them out. Thanks Marc

Well I'll let you drive my car or let Oleg drive his car..we both run them. They are literally street legal R comps. It's really nice with just grip that doesn't end. And by Sunday I didn't mean today..I mean next sunday, July 5th.

Don't forget that these are the 12-14K mile wear extreme performance tires.

Well took the car to Apex today for what I thought was a wheel align issue, turns out both rear coilovers are blown. Not a very happy camper. Will do some calling tomorrow to see what can be done but I think I'm out of luck there.

Does anyone know if they can be rebuilt?
