I finally did it too!!

MX's....as of now I plan on buying some SPT's when the Advans are shot.

Yes, I had those on my P5 and loved them. Great mileage wear as well. Had them for 3 years and then sold them with the rims and they still had some mileage left on them. I am not doing the mileage since I moved so I will see how the MX's do.

I've been doing a lot of research with the list and it seems one can go either way, i found Brembo blanks for about 30.00 a piece where as a decent slotted is around 60.00-70.00. I was looking at either EBC or Hawk HP pads. Tires will either be Falken ze-912 or Yokohama s-drives.
Also will have to price everything out and see about finances, thought about a roll bar so I can do track days, but have read negative comments about whacking ones head, plus i would have to either lower or replace my seats to get a 2" clearance between my head and the top of the bar(at least for scca track days)I don't know how many I would do so I think the bar is quite low on my list, easier to autox

Interesting. I wanted to do some HPDE events but no one makes rollbar for the PRHT so that's out. I will just stick to AutoX and driving the car on the track at Lime Rock again this spring.

i don't think you need the bar because you have the hardtop, because i have a soft top i need the bar, but after more reading and pricing bars and new seats(1,500-2,000)I'm thinking more and more about autox. I would rather save the money or invest it in a turbo.

Yeah, I priced things out at about $2K to make the car trackable.

Makes some of those track-ready Miatas on Craigslist look like a deal, when you think about it!

Did an oil change today. My mileage is gone way down. I normally cover 8000 miles for 4 months, I 've only done a little under 4000 for the same time period. I now have to change the oil according to time not mileage.

Got my birdseye sideview mirrors on today. Going to take some getting used to. But I don't have to refocus going from the main mirror to the small wide oval mirror. Much wider field of view as well. Cleans up the blind spots at the cost of some detail.

blind spots? in a miata?

Ohh yessss. With the top up.

With the top up.. I could see it. Or not see it.... har har har

Correct. On the highway, top up or down, with these I can see cars much better that are on my quarters. They appear larger than the small O mirrors I was using and can seem them closer.

The other advantage will be in the winter. When cleaning ice and snow off the mirror, the small O ones would pop off if I hit them too hard with the scraper. Now it's one smooth surface to scrape.

Nice Bruce. The 8 as wicked blind spots, but I've become accustomed to them and adjust accordingly. In general it amazes me how many people do not have their side mirrors adjusted properly. Just an observation when I was a valet for a country club many years back. Oh the fun I had in those cars, Porsche, Mercedes, BMW, etc. ;)

Thanks Josh.

Well sice I was oncall, got a lot done around the house. Moved the master bedroom, Mary is very happy. Got the rest of the leaves out of the yard today, actually had to use a shovel to move the pile.

Mary and I went to the Renegade Miata AutoX today. Saw Oleg, Marc, Bob. Just went for a couple of hours, had a nice drive down 111 to Ayer.

Got home and put a hitch and wiring on Mary's car so we can use the utility trailer again.

Sorry I had to miss the coffee meet but Family was getting together and hadn't seen my parents in a few months.

Left work at noon and peddled home to get the car. She had been sitting in the garage most of the week due to biking to work. Drove top down up to my brother's in Ontario. Had a blast on the way up, great weather as well.

Ran into 2 Miata groups in VT crossing over to Rouses Point. Some honking and waves, will have to check the Miata.net and see if there was a meet going on.

Covered 1000 miles. Got 29 MPG on 2 tanks and 1 at 30. all top down and mostly doing 70-75 all the time. Man i love driving this car.

Decals

Finally got to wash the car yesterday since LMR. A few bugs on the front. Also applied the decals Mark supplied for the rims. I must say Mark, great idea.(drinks)

I love the looks. Thanks to Josh for applying the Zoom Zoom stickers.

looks awesome bruce...the black on black is murda!!;) looks like a new avatar is in order??

Car is running great. I was changing my oil every 5000 before I moved to NH, but had decided to change it every 3 since the mileage is way down. I looked in my log and was horrified to find that I had gone almost 5000 miles since the last change, which was when I moved up here. So I changed it.

That means that since Xmas 2008 I have covered only 5000 miles. That included, OCC, LimeRock, 2 runs to Canada, plus some other weekend trips.

Went from 30k/year, looking like 11-12k a year. I like it.

What do you all think? 2008 Mazda MazdaSpeed3 - $17,900 with 19286mi. Gonna go look at it tomorrow, before the shamrods show.

LOL Tony. Umm not sure. Not up on the Speeds. Main thing I would worry about is, has it been beat up. Check motor mounts, axles, etc.
