Buying a MS3, good price?

Not really sure, he just said he could do 22.5 and i asked whats is the OTD price with everything and he said 24440

first, OTD prices are meaningless. every state has different taxes, registration fees, etc... the only thing worth talking about is what you're actually paying for the car.

second, if you haven't noticed, this is the worst time the auto industry has seen in the last 26 years. if you have money or can get financing they should be happy to see you.

edmunds says invoice is $21,877 for your car. this includes destination. you should pay that plus sales tax and reg fees. that's it. print out the page from edmunds, bring it in, and tell them that is what you want to pay. you can probably get them to go less if you really want to play hardball and don't feel too bad because they'll still make money. invoice may be what the dealer pays for the car but it's not the only way they make money off of selling a car. if they don't want to deal just go to another dealer, there's still plenty around. if they pull the "it's a limited edition blah blah blah" walk out. it's only limited in that they make as many as they can sell. if they try to tell you it costs more than that walk out. basically if they try to come up with a reason you should pay more than invoice tell them "thank you for your time" and just leave.

with the market like it is there is literally no reason you should pay more than invoice for ANY car with perhaps the ZR1 and GTR being the exceptions.

our sales tax is like almost 9%

I think you're right about your area. I just checked out AutoTrader and Cars and couldn't find one near you for under 22k. Anyways, just with tax at 22,500, it would be more than his OTD price, so I don't know what he's trying to pull.

oh additionally you should also qualify for any current incentives. not sure what's out there for the MS3 but what you pay at the dealer has no bearing on incentives as they are through the manufacturer not the dealer

Went to edmunds and put in 09 sport with sirius and the invoice was 22.3, which is only 200 less then what he offered me

offerind 2.9% apr for 4 years

offerind 2.9% apr for 4 years

I think this excludes the MS3:

AMOUNT OF DOWNPAYMENT AND OTHER FACTORS MAY AFFECT QUALIFICATION. $1,000 customer cash to qualified buyers when financed through participating lender. he was pretty sure on it, just said if my credit was good, cause i made a point on saying the my decision is also based on getting the 2.9% apr

is it really an 09 or an 08? i did the pricing as an 08. whatever it ends up being i recommend optioning it as it is on the lot, printing it out and bringing it in.

if it's the red one at smith haven mazda it's an 09 so the price is a bit higher. if i were you i'd go with the cosmic blue one that riley mazda says it has. it's an 08 so it's cheaper plus it's a better color

I hope he was pretty sure because it says right on the Mazda website that the MS3 is excluded. He could also just be trying to lure you in and switch the APR once you sit down to negotiate; just get that APR in writing.

well if he is doing that hes is dumb cause i am leaving without even saying anything to him. will just get up and peace

What hue of blue are you referring to? There is no current blue color in the 09s and 08.5s, but there was Cosmic Blue on the 07 and 08.

Current offer should be invoice less $500 in incentives. They didn't have any reduced loan rates unfortunately, Speed3's excluded as noted.

yea the cosmic, but it is pretty far, compared to the smithaven which is a mile away while the blue one is in another state like 25 miles away.

I dont understand how i can get that, the msrp is like 23.4ish. 21 OTD seems crazy to get

The auto industry is not doing well, and the 2010 model is coming out soon. Mazda needs to unload all their old 08 and 08.5 inventory. No way in hell you should settle for such a high price. Seriously, go to another dealer. Also remember, 08 is worth less than an 09 significantly.

I just paid $22400 OTD for an 09 Speed3. Before taxes the price was $21,700.

What the hell is the tax in your state? I got mine for 20995 before tax, after tax over 23000. Hey there metro gray buddy :).
