Hey as i drove in to work today, my MSP started to boggle as i was accelerating past 3 grand ? It barely made it past 3 grand once it passed, it seemed to be ok. would this be a boost problem? or something to do with my air sensor ? any ideas thanks im at work now im going to check it out later tonight..

Thanks in advance!

Describe the bogging (bogging, not boggling... lol) a little more. Also, is it cold where you are? If it's cold, and it felt like the motor just shut off, that's probably fuel cut.

yes it is cold, im in toronto when its bogging lol.....it does seem like i am losing power (the best way i can describe this its like it is little sudden bursts of the car feels like its dying then i get a burst of power, it feels like when you first learn how to drive stick but going a lot faster).

Im having the same problem, and Im thinkin is the cold weather, I dont shoot any engine codes or anything, but itll bog a couple times and then after about 3600 rpm its fine, but its really annoying and I dont want to damage anything

i found out what it was it seemed to be a clog in the fuel line with either bad fuel or water in the line or build up, my mechanic was telling me even sometimes the cold weather can do it. i was worried it was fuel cut but everything is cool again. :)

I knew mine wasnt fuel cut but I knew it had to do with the cold weather after yesterday, it was arm and she ran like a dream, then at night it got cold, and it did it again so no worries, but now I think I got a piston knock...

If you have underground parking, you should probably look into putting some gas-line anti-freeze in every now and then when you fill up. Going from a cold to hot environment can cause condensation in a less than full gas tank. This can cause water to be in your fuel tank, thus possibly having your fuel line freeze.

I find I put in a small bottle once a month, but only during the winter. Go Canadian winters.

or if you have the wonderfull weather like Kansas does, ittll be cold as hell in the mornins then itll get up to 60 in the afternoon then freeze again at night or youll have one day of 80 degree weather than 3 days of snow.

There is a Dealer TSB for a ecu reflash to cure the issue. Supposedly mine was done at 12k miles before I bought it, and now its doing it again. Call the dealer and give them the vin so can run a check to see if it has been performed.

Did you move the air tempeture sensor from the original position? If yes move the sensor back to the original position.

im having a violent fuel or boost cut under boost.i havent had a real chance to check it out but i did notice the air temp sensor has been re located due to a aftermarket intake.whoever owned this vehicle installed it into the back of the aftermarket filter.which i thought was strange..if a aftermarket intake is used can the air temp sensor be put somewhere it will operate correctly and if so where?and or are some intakes designed specificly to correct this issue if so who makes it?or am i fubared i just bought this car so i am unsure of its mods so far because i havent brought it into the shop yet any ideas of comon problems would be greatly apreciated

The location of your IAT is fine. The stock location is in the airbox just behind the filter, and aftermarket intakes place it in the intake tube just ahead of the MAFS. Any of these locations (even zip-tied somewhere outside of the intake tract) are going to give virtually the same results.

ty i figured out the problem..very simple...the moron before me was running 87 instead of 93...i filled the tank and was driving and poof it was fixed ...

yea thats probably it. in texas our plus is 88 and premium is 91. ive been using the 88 thinkin i would save money (stupid me) and ive been having that hesitation like symptoms around 3.5 to 4 g's rpm. sucky acceleration in WOT, jerking, the works.

bad thing about that is if you want to tune your stock computer you cant reverse the flash
