Ok folks, it's seems it's that time again for me. Those of you that have been around a while know I was highly involved with trying to get Mazda Canada to fix the clunk.
Well, now I'm trying to get them to fix another issue, and I need to know of any threads concerning it that might have been already discussed
If you do NOT HAVE THESE EXACT SYMPTOMS, please don't post here about other noises you have heard.
Description of Noises
During Normal acceleration\Normal Driving conditions, that means NOT RACING NOT FLOORING IT, Not WOT, just driving NORMAL.
Sorry but some folks definition of "normal" is not normal
Anyways, during normal acceleration. There is a knock, or clicking sound coming from the right ( Passenger side ) of the engine. From this point I will refer to that as ....get ready for this.... "the noise".
The noise happens in any gear between 2500 and 3500 rpms. Usually after going up a hill, or coming off of a hill. During the noise, the car does not accelerate, if you are quick enough, you'll see a puff of dark white smoke out the back of the car. Easing off of the gas gets rid of the noise, and getting back on the gas again the car will accelerate as normal again.
I have had this happen while just trying to go up a hill. Cruising on the highway at normal speed limits, I've even had this happen during cruise control by just by hitting the cruise control accel button to accelerate a little.
The problem is, of course that car doesn't do it all the time, and it's become very difficult to troubleshoot. I've searched around, and it seems there are literally hundreds of MS6's effected by this. I'm not sure of MS3's.
Guessing it was a fuel issue, we've replaced the high pressure fuel pump, checked the turbo, reprogrammed ECU, still no success.
After waiting 2 years for the problem to be resolved, they call me today and tell me to get premium gas....imagine that, I would have never of thought of it....DUH. And to try gas somewhere else. Unfuckingbelievable. And that came straight from Mazda Canada. I fear my dealer is headed into a circle of endless troublshooting unless someone higher up resolves this. I refuse to have them pick my car apart trying different things based on no idea where to start. I do have a excellent rep helping me.
91 octane is the highest I can get here. there are about 4 other speeds in my town, mine is the only known issue, but the others are driven by...how should I say it, less then the average auto enthusiast type....and women...sorry.
I can replicate the issue sometimes but allowing the car to get to 2500 rpms, then accelerate from there, not WOT, just normal. It usually happen as it hits 3k. If not, slow down try again and repeat. The trick is to be in a gear where she is hovering around 2500 rpms. And I'll go up a few hills to try it.
I've also noticed my fuel mileage is down quite a bit, and she's been down on oil.
I'm not sure how heavily involved I'm going to get with this. Fact is 3 Mazda's for me, 3 major issues, 3 strikes, and 3 times I have not sued. As far as I am concerned, the clunk was never fixed either. If this turns into another Clunk scenario, my patience are done, and I'm not going about this in the same manor as I did before. My health hasn't been the greatest this year, and I just don't have the time to waste on this.
Thanks for reading.
