Hey all...I actually have a couple of questions.

1) I was wondering if any of you know of any dealers particularly good with/friendly towards performance mods on cars. I am a mazdaspeed 3 owner from Maine and I have a lot that I want to do to this car (see sig), but if its possible, I want to still be able to bring it in to a shop somewhere if I need to have it checked out or whatever. Furthermore, I would like to be able to do that without having to bring it completely back to stock all the time. As I get further along with these modifications, that will be more and more of a hassle to do, so if a dealer is understanding of the mod addiction, and I can leave my mods in place when I bring the car in, that would be a huge plus for me.

2) Also, anyone know of good performance parts stores around here or is my best bet to order from Street Unit, protege garage, and other stores online?

Thanks for whatever help you can give me!

well it used to be grappone mazda in concord then they got a new service rep idk you MIGHT be able to get away with it and ive heard rumors that werner mazda in manchester is getting a lil mor lenient

I bought my car at Seacoast Mazda in Portsmouth (a lot closer to you than Concord or Manchester) and I've never had a problem with their service dept. They've actually commented on my mods before. Of course, my cai and exhaust are mazdaspeed, so at least it is put out by Mazda. Not sure if that would help the matter or not... however my drop kit is made by Eibach, and isn't Mazdaspeed. The only thing that sucks about Seacoast Mazda's service dept is that they are not open on the weekends.

thanks for the responses guys.(thumb)

zoom, in your experiences at seacoast mazda, they had no problem with your mods? that would be great if that's the case because they are only 30 mins from me.

If they aren't as open as you say towards modded cars, I might have to call Werner and see what they have to say I guess.

Yes, they have been cool about my modding. They have never given me a problem, and I've passed inspection there 2 years in a row (with all the mods in place).

awesome. thank you. I will have to get in touch with them about my future service. (rockon)

not sure where in maine you are from but did you try the auburn mazda place i think its rowe? i have talked to them on the phone a couple of times and they seem cool though i have never taken my car there.

I haven't talked to Rowe-Auburn, but I will talk to them and Grappone, too. Thanks guys.

I am from Wells. I spend a lot of my time in Boston for work, but I am pretty much always driving around Wells/Biddeford/York/Kittery on the weekends.

Do you commute to Boston with the car? If so look for a dealer near your job. Why not just bring it to Prime Mazda aka Clair?

I usually don't drive the car in Boston because the roads and the drivers are horrible here and I would rather drive it on the back roads up in Maine where I can let loose a little.

However, I am just looking for a new-england dealer with a good reputation for being open to modified cars. So far Grappone has the most recommendations. Is Prime (Clair) Mazda mod-friendly to the best of your knowledge?

i don't know about down in boston but up here prime/clair aren't mazdaspeed certified so they won't work on your car
