Downriver Cruise Meet, June 27-28

LOL... I am worse although I have decided with this car particularly that things are going to happen and to not get upset. I have had a buddy Drop his mountain bike on top of my last Mazda3 and dent the hell out of the hood, the another buddys kid was watching me wash my CX-7 and grabbed the hose and was raking it up and down the side of the car, HUGE to the metal scratchs. I was able to set sand that out. Some how I have two big to the metal scratches on the top of my car now that I have no idea where they came from. My wife drove into a pole or something and put a ruler wide/length scratch through the pain on the rear wheel well, I was able to get that out as well which I NEVER though I would have been able to. So you never know. One, these things happen. Two, we may be able to get it out and you can charge him for the dealer repair which by the way will cost you more than if you go to a collision shop of your choice.

Well I'm not out for personal gain, so I won't charge him (other than food/beer) if you can possibly get it out. I used to go to a body shop in Wyandotte, but their work got worse off as time went on. I had really good luck with Sesi for body work, and I'd go back there in a heartbeat. I might shop around one day next week and get estimates and see what can come out of it.

Here it is:

Well, when do you want to try? We can try... There are a couple techniques that we can try; touch up paint and a sqeegee, wet sanding and buffing the hell out of it, pushing touch up paint into it. If nothing works to your satisfaction then you will just have to take it to a body shop or your dealerships body shop for paint. You probably could take the bumper skirt off yourself (save money) and take it in to have painted. They will sand it down around the area to smooth it out and shoot the whole bumper again. You dont need to pay me for trying to fix it, I am not in the business any more just have all the equipment still.

I'd like to try this weekend if I get the touch-up paint in time. I currently don't have any. Sounds like we've got some options to get it looking better...I'm sure we can make it work.

Yep, you have my number. I know I am busy Friday and Sunday. Give me a call. If you can get your hands on some touch up I could cruise out tomorrow night???? The wife and kid come back Thursday, LOL...

Saturday I have the house to myself as well, so I'm planning on doing a full assault detailing on the car. I e-mailed Mazda to see if I still get touch-up, but if not, I'll go to the dealer and order some.

Ordered touch-up paint from Gorno today, will be here next Wed.

In the mean time, I plan to stop over to their body shop tomorrow after work and get a quote on what needs to be done. I just want to have all my bases covered.

Hey your lucky in one aspect, I ordered touch up paint May 8th and still havent gotten any.

While I stopped by Gorno today, I had their body shop look at it. $362 bucks to fix it. Touch up will be here on Mon.

When the adjuster looked at it, he said that touching it up would make it more noticeable. I'm not sure how much I believe that though.
