Beeping sound whilst driving. About 20-30 seconds

Never really realized this was a problem. I always put my backpack on the floor in front of the seat. Lighter items like my daughter’s trumpet box don’t set off the seatbelt alarm. I’d personally put my items on the floor where they’re contained vs risk stuff flying forward from hard braking or a collision.

Yeah, I mean that's what I would personally do. In fact, I usually put my backpack on the floor, behind the driver's seat. But OP asked for a solution to the chime, and stated multiple times that they prefer to have the backpack on the seat. So rather than suggest a solution that they've already addressed and turned down a couple of times, I thought it best to suggest an alternative.

Apologize, safety guy by trade. Had to say it was a bad idea again. Inability to restrain cargo or occupants = catastrophic severity mishap

Yeah, I could but sometimes the floor can get filthy.

I would like to put my bag on the seat.

Reading through the manual, looks like it's some "electrostatic sensor" in the front seat that detects whether or not a "person" is using the seat. So, if your bag has some water or electronics in it that may set it off.

Why do we have technology to alarm to a "problem" that does not exist!?

Oh no apology needed at all, I wasn't disagreeing or anything. Just explaining why I went a different way with it. If I was one of the initial responders I would have suggested the same thing lol

The only knock I have on the weight in seat sensor is if it malfunctions. My old ‘05 Focus cloth seat got slightly wet. Not soaked, slightly wet. The sensor forever read slight weight in the seat when none was there and disabled the passenger seat airbag. Seatbelt status didn’t tie into the system. An adult sitting there would usually provide enough weight to reactivate the airbag. It must have corroded worse as time went on because adult weight on the passenger seat later became no longer sufficient to reactivate the airbag I’ve been super careful with liquids on a passenger seat ever since.
