Went back out to the cruise on Sat, and hung out most of the day. Saw a lot of nice cars, especially after the rain. Couple of new Challenger SRTs and RTs, a 360 Modena, 308 GTB, DeTomaso Pantera with the GT5(?) package, and of course, lots of good classics.

Saw a guy with a blue MSP with the MP3 wing on it, not the same guy from Friday night (Alex I believe) and a TR MS3 with tint, but it wasn't Ian.

Everything was alright until I was cruising around 10PM with Joe (SVT Focus), when he decided to not pay attention and bump me, leaving a nice 4" gash in the rear bumper. I'm not too thrilled with that.

Steve, how late were you out last night? I was going to come out in the Lotus after I got home from work (like 1:am) but I called you and got some weird kinda feedback and no voices, so I just stayed home and chilled.

Sorry to hear about your bumper. Is SVT-boy going to pony up for repairs?

I saw that you called, I went back about 10PM and passed out. I was pretty pissed off about the bumper, even though the scratch isn't too bad. I'll take a pic tomorrow and post it up. I'm not even sure what to do with it, if I should take it to a shop and get an estimate or just touch it up. Suggestions?

Let me see it. we could likely lite sand it out or at least make it invisible.

I'll snap a pic after work, then post it here for you to look at. I'm pissed about it since it's such a new car and it was something stupid that happened, and it's a friend of mine. On the other hand, if the roles were reversed (and they have) I'd pay to have it fixed however the owner sees fit.

Yep, Ray ran my car into a pole and scratched my door and took a chunk out of my rim. Unreal... He is having it fixed though on his dollar. There is no other way to handle it. Your buddy isnt going to pay for it? Worse case, you get a new bumper wrap, $200 and have it painted, $100. Beats an insurance claim. You never know though man, we may be able to minimalize it enough that you wont care any more.

Well, I haven't really decided the way to go with the job yet. I didn't file a police report since he is someone I know, and we verbally agreed that he would take care of it. After I take a pic of it, I'd like to take it to the dealer and see how much they want to repair it, then have some form of documentation and show him. If it wasn't so new I wouldn't be so mad, but I'm anal about things like that with my car.

LOL... I am worse although I have decided with this car particularly that things are going to happen and to not get upset. I have had a buddy Drop his mountain bike on top of my last Mazda3 and dent the hell out of the hood, the another buddys kid was watching me wash my CX-7 and grabbed the hose and was raking it up and down the side of the car, HUGE to the metal scratchs. I was able to set sand that out. Some how I have two big to the metal scratches on the top of my car now that I have no idea where they came from. My wife drove into a pole or something and put a ruler wide/length scratch through the pain on the rear wheel well, I was able to get that out as well which I NEVER though I would have been able to. So you never know. One, these things happen. Two, we may be able to get it out and you can charge him for the dealer repair which by the way will cost you more than if you go to a collision shop of your choice.
