who is never buying mazda again? because of the exp from your current mazda vehicle?

i think i may go with nissan next (will change name to SERowner or something... GTRowner? :D), the protege5 i have has been super reliable and handles like nothing else for the money but the dealership is full of tards, screwed up 2 oil changes in a ROW, an OIL CHANGE! how can you screw that up!

the car is rusting from the INSIDE out, my A pillar looks fine from the outside but on the inside its completly gone, dont know HTF that happened, the car's gas millage is kinda crappy for how much power it puts out, the paint is crap on it, theres like 1.5 coats with no clear or something.

who else feels the same way?

Not me. Had my wife's pro5 for almost a year and a half. Only complain is the under powered motor, but, it gets good gas mileage. Had mine for 6 months and still love it like the day I bought it.

When it comes to the dealer, that problem is simple. DON'T GO TO THE DEALER! Problem solved. I found a good honost certfied mechanic I take my cars to and havn't had a problem yet

You want reliable? Go ahead and get yourself a Sentra S-ER. lol.

i see you have sunlight silver, which i can assure has a clearcoat on it =) its a bit harder than honda clear too.

i will be buying a mazda again... and never selling my protege5 ever.

My presumptions of Mazda were actually favourably changed because of my P5. Sure, it had rust issues and so on, but it's been a reliable, fun ride that I'm quite proud of.

I'll def. be buying another Mazda. Got my eyes already trained on the Mazda 5 if we end up needing a van.

I'd definitely buy a mazda again. Of course, that's not saying I will when the time comes. I agree with you on one thing... GT-R!! :D

i would buy a mazda again, but i hear ya on the paint chips!!

um... let me get this straight your never goign to purchase another mazda due tot he fact some retards can't change oil at the dealer ship?? WTH does that have to do with the car? You live up north where it snows... thas like saying chevy, ford, toyota ect ect makes crappy trucks because they rust up in the rust belt. As far as the paint goes its a cheap car even when new so what do you expect the paint job of a beamer or jag?

Between the previous owner and myself we have put over 163k miles on the orig engine and tranny with no problems. The only thing that has been done would be basic wear and tear items and preventive maint (wp, belts, ect ect)

i already bought 2 more.

bought a 02 proetege es for th wife traded it in for a mazda 6S

I have a littel paint rusting on my PR5 and normal wear and tear after 189K

BTW

do your oil change yourself.........

do you think some A$$ gives a rats tail abotu your car?

Yay for being on a Mazda site asking people if they hate Mazdas!!
(outie)

My P5 is my second Mazda and I am buying a 3 hatch soon to keep it company in the driveway. Mazda has the best balance of looks, reliability, mpg, power, and handling.

Living in Texas I have no rust to speak of. Now the paint I have to agree on at least the bumpers and mirrors!!

Other than that I would say that the P5 has been the best car I have ever owned and I've been around the block a few times!

I would not trade it for any other car in the price range of the total I've spent at nearly $55k!

Lets see, I have a Mazda Protege5 and my Fiance has a Mazda6 S Sedan and neither of which have given us any problems to date. Hers had to get an reflash to smooth out the shifts (hers is sadly an autotragic) but that was free of charge and the dealer we go to (Jake Sweeney Mazda) is nothing short of amazing. We love the people there, both sales and service...I have a silver 2003.5 Protege5 and theres no signs of rust except a small dot on the hood where a rock chipped the paint deep enough but I'll get that fixed this summer.

I don't really understand your complaint about gas mileage...if you compare the Protege to other cars in it's class, it's right on par...the last 2 gas tanks ive filled up i've averaged a little over 30mpg (70% highway 30% city) and my friends 2004 1.7L Civic averages only 33mpg mixed and he averages about the same highway and city...

Also, why would you take your car to the dealer for an oil change anyways and not do it yourself in 15 minutes in your driveway for half the cost?

i've owned two rx-7s, one protege5, one mazda3, one 626, one mazda5 and convinced my sister and sister in law both to buy a mazda6 with the 2.3 liter, and my brother owns a mazdaspeed miata. honestly they've all been great cars. my wife traded her neon for the mazda3 and she will never go back, and she comes from a "be american/buy american" upbringing so to speak. my sister is thinking of upgrading to a cx-9 and even my domestic loving parents have been eying one.

i would buy a mazda, but probably not a mazdaspeed vehicle. there have been more TSBs and pithy issues with the ms3 and ms6 in a year than what the standard 3 has had in four years. plus all the issues with the msp ... as much as i like those cars, i don't think i could own one.

I don't plan on buying another Mazda. I would not recommend a Mazda to anybody I know because of the crappy service Mazda offers as one example. If didn't discover this forum days after I purchased my Msp...I think I would have lost my mind.

I love my car but that's after I spent thousands of dollars to make it the way it should have been delievered my Mazda...besides a few personal touches.

Unless I hit the jackpot someday, I have no choice but to keep this car the rest of my life if I want to justify the money I've thrown at it.

I will never buy another Mazda....

Cause this one will last FOREVER....and I'm a cheapass.....

well customer service is half the product right? this is true for any product,
but yeah oil changes are no longer allowed at the dealer, i only let the dealer do it because it was $20 per change cuz i got that 6 pack oil change coupon thing.

and im not saying there is anything mechanically wrong with the car, because even after a near write off accident where everything got banged up the car still has not had a problem. I also bag the s*** out of the car too.

oh well i dont think ill be giving it up anytime soon tho, my name is pr5owner on just about every forum on the internet, not to mention my car isnt worth anything after all the mods i put in and the holes ive cut lol

i couldn't be happier with my little protege! i've modded the heck out of it and it's never let me down, ya, i got a little rust on the drivers door inside, but heck it's almost 7 yrs old and i live in the rust belt of the east...i'm buying another mazda, when the day comes!(first)
