Parking with TT

I appreciate the defense, but it's all good. People can be over-analytical all they want.

I appreciate the help, and will hopefully look forward to referencing this thread when I do indeed get my MS3 (next month) and get either my Clifford set up with the TT, or end up buying a TT seperate.

[Like I said, I was contributing to the overall topic of the thread, if the OP is offended, I apologize. Like I ALSO said before..I figured this was better than clogging up the forum with multiple TT scenario threads, that could all be relevant and helpful to all]

So does it really matter what brand TT you get? They're all going to do the same thing i'd imagine. I searched on google and found a mazda parts website that was selling them for like $88 bucks.

Also, do you have to activate it everytime, before you shut the car off? Or is it automatic? Reason I ask, is incase you take it to a dealer for service, etc. etc.

I have the HKS, and it's full auto, OR you can set the time which is nice, and you can also turn it right off, so your car is normal. Has a voltage display too - way cool!

Anyways, back to what we were talking about, I do highly reccomend the HKS Type-0 or Type-1 depending on what features, etc you're looking for.

Thanks for "cleaning house" jbird.

On TT's still, the HKS Type-1 is the blue screened one, and it not only has the Voltmeter like my Type-0 but also has an RPM readout and an hourmeter I think. I just went with the Type-0 cause it didn't light up blue, but if I could get a red Type-1 I totally would have.

You don't sit in your car waiting several times a day. You stay out of boost the last minute or two home. How hard is that? I'll take the $50 and leave the nanny out of the picture.

Whats the point in having a turbo if you dont roll in to every parking lot dumping boost out your ebay bov impressing every one in the area?(uhm)

spoken like a true noob.... I love it, (and yes I understand its in jest) just make sure you remember to turn on the neons too

A turbo timer is a great idea whether your hot roddin' around before shut off or if you putt into park. The point is that every engine should be allowed to cool off before you turn the key off, especially turbo engines. Whether your turbo is oil-cooled, water-cooled, your car is boosted or NA, you should allow a few moments for your engine to recirculate its fluids througout the block at idle speeds before you shut your car off. A turbo timer simply adds convenience to this situation.

The Apexi Pen fits perfectly in the ASHTRAY, when I mean perfect, i mean perfect. No holes either, shut the ashtray and it drops in there from above, put ashtray in and wedge the TT in there, PERFECT. I'll try to take some pics soon. It even has a nice backlight of red in the ashtray and if you want to be stealthy just shut the tray.

Yeah Tom, if you could post pictures that'd be great! That's exactly where I was going to put my TT. Figured it'd be out of sight, but still useful when necessary.

You can see mine i nthe second pic, look through the steering wheel. I hung it up under the "storage space" in front of the cupholders. Looks REAL stealth.
