This may seem like a dumb question but I have no idea. I might be buying a turbo timer or an alarm with a built-in turbo timer. I park my MS3 on an incline on a daily basis and i don't feel comfortable without parking it in gear.

If I park the car and start the turbo timer, does the car have to be in neutral or can I start the turbo timer with the car in gear and leave it that way??? Thanks.

what do you think. the motor is running, if it is in gear and stopped its going to stall. not sure why so many want a turbo timer, to me its a waste of money. these turbo's are oil and water cooled. all you have to do is stay out of boost before you park or sit in your car for 30 seconds. save your money and buy something thats worth it.

you would have to wait for the turbo timer to shut down the car if you want it in gear.
You cant leave it in gear and use the turbo timer, itll stall.

Actually, it'll most likely end up jumping the curb, and smashing into your favorite restaurant killing the partons inside and you'll be like "oh SNAP!!!!!!" and then here come the po-po but it's gonna be REAL hard to hide out with that chef's hat on there, boss!

There is not a person that says this that can prove a TT doesn't help. If you can't afford 50 bucks you got involved in the wrong hobby.

what's wrong with the parking brake? isn't that what it's for? I suppose if you're still concerned, you can get chocks for the wheels...

Apparently he's parking on this incline:

you can do the same thing as a TT by leaving earlier...and its cheaper. that way your turbo can cool and you can leave it in gear =]

haha

Even na cars can benifet from a cooldown. Watercooled turbo or not a tt is worth it for peace of mind. Why would I sit in my car waiting several times a day? Thats not worth saving the money imo.

You don't sit in your car waiting several times a day. You stay out of boost the last minute or two home. How hard is that? I'll take the $50 and leave the nanny out of the picture.

Guys like me who run the bigger turbos don't have the luxury of a wet center section...

I just installed the Apexi Pen style and its a 2 wire hookup in ignition and Ground and Parking Brake Safety. Everything works perfect, Alarm arms while car is still running and locks doors. Just hit locks and walk away from your running car, its a little bit fad, but can't hurt and a little bit rock and roll. I mounted mine in ashtray and it looks great with the red ashtray lights and all. Came out nicer then expected. Thanks to AzMs3 over at the other forum for all the help, the install was super ez, the running of wires and making it look professional took much longer.

you only need to get a turbo timer if you are a maniac driver that is in teh boost range alot. like me haha

I had the Greddy TT then it was stolen. I have another one in the mail. I recommend it. And please dont get out of ur car while its running AND in gear!

I've got a Clifford 50.5x two-way pager alarm/remote start. It claims it has a turbo timer option. Does anyone know/have any experience with this?

I was just wondering what all would be required to utilize the "turbo timer add-on" option on my Clifford 50.5x two way pager alarm/remote start. I wasn't sure if anyone has ever utilized that option as part of their alarm/remote start system. I thought someone else in the thread had done so as well, or had asked about it before with a Viper alarm.

In order to utilize your extra features you probably just have to do some extra wiring, including tapping into the ignition wire and e-brake wire. Nothing to major that any car ausio/alarm shop couldn;t handle. If your not easily flustered you could prolly do it yourself if you still have your instruction manual. I can hook you up with any wiring diagrams you need. Don;t worry about these guys getting their panties in a wad. The only person that should get pissed about threadjacking is the OP, IMO.
