Need for Speed Pro Street

Just got this game and played it a bit tonight. I used a code to unlock the Mazdaspeed3. This game is more realistic and harder than previous Need for Speed games, except Porsche Unleashed. The feeling of the game is like weekend track events out West somewhere, it's not like the city driving of the last several NFS games. Your vehicle takes damage and you can total it if you damage it enough. Graphics are great, sounds are good if you turn down the annoying announcer that has to comment on everything. The MS3 model is very accurate, almost photo-realistic. You can even see the stitching on the seats.

As far as I played the career mode I found it a little frustrating, the events (at least the early ones) have races and drag races, and you might make it through 3 races just fine with your one car and then be not able to win the drag race in your drag race car. At that point the only choice you have is to leave the event, upgrade your car (if you have the money), then do the whole event over again. At that point I said **** that and entered the cheat to unlock all the cars so I could see the MS3...

Cheat code to unlock all cars is UNLOCKEVERYTHING, you enter it on the career menu under Codes.

I thought the code was UNLOCKALLTHINGS

Well it is for the PS2 atleast..

Game is fun... play it in my car while waiting for my girl to get out of class....

haha thats a good idea ......i know after you enter the cheat you can get the integra for free and sale them to get extra money fyi

I think these game is crap, the previous version of it drives and feels much better than these game, yes the graphics and sound are good but game play sucks, i was really dissapointed with these game. plus you need more than a super Computer to run these game at a good or max resolution, i think carbon and most wanted black edition are better games to play. i also miss the underground 2 where you even had dyno to tune your car and make it better, these Pro Street is just pure Garbage !!!!

by the way im talking about the PC-DVD Version, not PS2, PS3, XBOX 360 Etc..

you can tune your car on prostreet to,but i have to agree the undergrounds were better

Easy way to win early track events...

In the first event, you win one of the two pre built drag cars (civic or cobalt). Sell that, and keep the 240SX you start off with the way it is (don't mess with it, its fine for the first round of races). Use the money you get with selling the drag car you win to buy the Chevelle SS. Stock its fast enough, but after you win one or two full events, you should have enough money to do "Stage 2" everything to the Chevelle. After that, you'll be good to go with the drag events, then you can spend more money on the 240 to make it a bit faster. Thats what I did untill I got the Supra...which was an epic failure in that game because I had "stage 3" power and turbos and all that s***, and "stock traction". Couldn't controll that thing worth a s***.

I still think NFS Pro Street...sucks ass, the new GTR2 and Race 07 are real racing games, for me these game is a huge dissapointment considering that today they have more knowledge and techonology to make something real good in every aspect. the game its horrible in what controlling car is about, it barely responds when you try to turn and loose control easily.. these game def sucks ass..

Sometimes I don't want to play a real racing game, I enjoyed the hell out of NFS Most Wanted and the older NFS games. Yeah the steering is pretty weak, all the cars tend to understeer. At least you can actually wreck in Pro Street.

As far as the performance, I have a 8800 GT and 2GB of RAM, dual core AMD and I have all the settings on medium or high, it runs great at 1680x1050. I did experience a sudden big slowdown after an hour or so of play, I exited the game and started it again and it was fine. So there do seem to be some bugs.

For the PC, in terms of gameplay with a force feedback wheel Prostreet is way more realistic than the underground series was. The underground series took a lot of getting used to with the steering wheel.

I think Prostreet tried too much to be an "arcade-sim" racing game and it fails at both because you can *almost* drive it like an arcade racer, but not really because its got just enough simulation in there to tick you off. The braking really ticks me off in Prostreet. While I've never driven a real race car, braking and turning is nearly impossible to do at the same time. And as Dan1101 mentioned, ALL the cars tend to understeer a lot.

I play the older Need for speed games when I want an arcade driving experience and games such as Race 07 when I want a sim game.

In my opinion the whole FWD class sucks bad in prostreet. The understeer insanely and once any of them make any serious power they just spin the wheels. I use fwd mainly on the speed courses, I tried the MS3 on drag, but I couldn't launch without wheelspin through like 3rd gear hehe.

I agree with mazdaspeed, I have black edition for PC and my lexus is the s***. I have carbon for the 360, either way, I think pro street doesn't come close.

My son plays it enuf for the both of us. I guess when he's sleep I'll throw in the cheat codes.

it might sound crazy, but for me the best and more realistic driving racing game was NEED FOR SPEED SE, the very first need for speed. it had and still does amazing graphics and the driveability its just out of these world,, it drives and responds like no other game today on the market it was so realistic in every aspect, that i can't find the right words to explain how good and how much fun i had playing it...the best need for speed ever..
