your cars a beach slut! always pics of the car soaking up the rays at the beach

What can I say? I live on an island. From my house, 4 miles north or south is the ocean.

Downside is no tall buildings. 3 story max. on the island.

Thanks Mark. Thought I'd try a new location and time.
ya, like we're all getting tired of the train station and craigville beach!!

well tecnically not an island....MV is an island...:)

These are your best shots in some time. I think you did a very good job of capturing the car and the scenery. In some shots (like the one above) you were also able to highlight the very unique lines of the RX-8.

Now, I'm pretty sure you don't shoot RAW, but given the extreme dynamic range of the above scene, I would have tried to bracket the shot and bring the images together in Post. I know this may feel light cheating, but its the same thing photogs have been doing for decades using neutral density filters, burning and dodging.

Anyway, I think a three frames at -2/3 stop between each would bring back the color in the water, and then the sky very nicely.

Thanks all. I was hoping for a better sunset, but it's all good.

Hey Mark, unless you consider 2 man made bridges connecting the Cape to the main land, I say it's an island. Granted the canal is a smaller body of water. Technicalities...hehe.

Thank for the advice NVP5. You are correct, I only shoot RAW if I need to. At the time of that shot, that's exactly what everything looked like. The sun was almost below the horizon and the blue of the water gone....so sad.

you make cars look so sexy!! Too bad you're not closer, I'd love to have you take some shots of our cars (RacerXGirl's MSP, Velocifero's MSP, Shadow102's MSP, aMaff's Pro5 & Miata, etc)

If you're ever in Atlanta....

Thanks Rogue. Honestly I do not know much about camera settings as I should. I do however think I have a good feel for composition and lighting.

Foggy out this morning so a snapped a few at the end of my street.
