Question about our flash....

I was reading a thread and someone mentioned something about a 13 second car....as in...ours? Was he just BS'in or is he serious! I know the Flash gives us a little more kick...but really, how much, what can we tell our other fellow racers....is it safe to say we have about 160trq and 160 hp?::

to even THINK about 13s I'd say you need all the "typical" mods -- FMIC/CAI, exhaust, at least 12PSI, no back seat, and Lord knows what else.

NOBODY knows -- but as a guess that would sound about right. Very low 15s or very high 14s if you're good.

I think it's safe to say with more boost and good driving you could hit maybe 14.8 or so without the hard pipes or CAI.
Heck MotorTrend got a stock one to do 14.9! back in Oct 2002.
This was a pre-release car of course.

Ecu Flash will not equal 13 seconds in the 1/4 mile alone....add on other stuff.... you may get there!

Cirielle, i think i will settle this for everyone, our car can be a 13's car after you spend about 5 to 7 grand on your motor. and i know nothing about engines

If we forged out internals and bought that hi-boost turbo kit we should run a 13 right?

I think with a full turbo back exhuast, boost, good driving, and some traction we could easliy see high 13's.
But hey I will have to wait until the new casa is done before I can get "Large killa exhaust."

You do not have to spend that much to take it to that point. You could do it for let than that!
It really depends also on how long you want to run it too!
There are some one here that have done a whole setup and could get those numbers, but I do think $7gs is a little steep!

yashooa, i dunno, i am in the middle, i will eventually have both but with 18's there goes a decent quarter mile time. Higher rolling speed though I guess i will go with the engine first....so what should i buy. I know i want a three guage pod pillar first....so now what?

Are you for real?? 12-13 psi, race fuel good tires and an exhaust. I went 14.2@100 with like a 2.3 60' time. If that were a 2.0, it would have been a 13.6-13.7 or so run. Gutting the car and a FMIC are overkill just to go 13's..

the guages and all will probably be about 300 dollars when done i think, so that means i have about 1200 left. EBC? aren't those about 500? Then some other stuff, ah, i hate engines, they are to complicated!
