New Joe P. MBC inline controller

how does the performance compare to something like the Hallmans??? They have great boost response and keep it from spiking. But the downside is they are 120dollars.
my stupid unichip boostcontroller is spiking and hitting the fuel cut badly.

Any MBC, even Hallman acts differently on different cars- so I cannot comment on specific applications. I can say that they both work similarly and both have been proven on thousands of vehicles over the years. As mentioned earlier, this one is designed to be a bit less sensitive and spikey on smaller turbo'd cars, so in some ways and applications, it performs better than my previous MBC.

Hope this helps you some. If someone were to give you a straight answer and said "that is how it is without a doubt and it will do the same for you"- they're lying :). They all react differently in different applications. Heck, I get some people saying the Turbo XS (original MBC) works great for them and others saying it is garbage- you'll hear the same about me, Hallman, Extreme Motorsports, etc.

Hi Joe... I think this looks great and I understand all the benefits of using it but, I'd hate to install the thing wrong... Are there any install instructions on your site or included with the IL Controller?

Seriously thinking of adding this to my MSP Christmas list.

evolv- yes, there will be instructions included with them- thanks actually, I wanted to get them laid out and printed this week and it slipped my mind :).

Captain- email me at sales@joepmbc.com and we can discuss this more. Thanks!!

Hey guys, I think I fixed the problem with the image pop up. Anybody want to get back to me on it? I never had an issue because my browser was resizing the image to fit the window, but I shrunk it to fit so hopefully no one else will have issues. Thanks.
Joe

Well Joe I didn't see any problems the first time but then again I didn't check it across all platforms, as any good web designer should...

If ewilburn.com designed this page I hope they didn't charge you anything, because they totally ****** it up.

Lose the Javascript, its written badly. Your site is very simple, it needs nothing more then html to control the image. If you really feel that you need it to open in another window, you can use the target=_blank command, javascript can be very unfriendly.

Drop about 2.2 million words from the META keywords and use no more then 20 words. All 20 of those words should (if possible) be part of the html text within the page and should definately include any hyperlinked text.

There are lots of other things wrong with the layout of that site, including using javascript to control the menu... thats really bad for search engine spiders and proper search engine listing.

Your site is simple, take it back to your developer and tell them that the site is unacceptable and you want a HTML content rich site so that you can get good search results.

Just think, when someone types MBC or Manual Boost your site shows up in the top 3... Now you'll be selling some units..

OK for all my advise here all I ask for is one IL series boost controller shipped to

____________ :D

Hahah- I did it lol. Well, my cousin did the layout, I added everything else. It was my first time doing a site and I did it all based on what others advised. I was told to use as many tags and spellings as I could. The Java is all done just with the "cheats" in Dreamweaver- I didn't type the code myself, I'd be lost. I did the java pop ups because I thought it looked better opening in a fixed window like that than it did in a full screen. I'll hve to drop some of the meta tags and make some other changes I guess. Like I said, I was told to just type anything I could think of that was related and "just copy paste it like 1000 times" by a guy I know in FL that does web design. BTW- E Wilburn is my cousin, he does some serious sites- so don't let mine hurt his rep lol. I probably hacked that all up by myself!

The problem with maintaining a site on your own is the time it takes. Even if you built this site perfectly 2 years ago you would be challenged to keep it optimised for todays standard. It was one thought that you need lots of META keywords to get a good search engine ranking but it doesn't work like that any more.

I do some web development and I am always learning new technologies and tricks to keep things running smooth. Currently I am relearning CSS, "Liquid CSS" to be exact. Its fantastic if you can get a handle on how all the z-index's work... Fast loading, cross browser friendly and very unique..

With my full time job, driving my teenager all across town, autocross and long love making sessions with my g/f, there's barely anytime to maintain one web site, never mind the 1/2 dozen that I currently maintain and the dozen clients that want new designs and upgrades... phew.. I need a beer (beer)

OK back to the topic... love that IL Controller.. my orders going in, in the New Year.....

Yeah, I never considered that. I did the site a little over a year ago, it would only make sense that like everything else- it gets date after a while also. If I had the $$$ for it, I'd have someone redo it all, my cousin is pretty busy lately and I don't want to burden him. Who knows, maybe next year sometime. So you said just to use a few keywords then?

Maybe we can work a deal- the MBC for some quick pointers :)? Let me know. Talk to you later.
Joe

You can drop the META keywords alltoghether as most spiders now just skip them! But you can use the page title and the URL by including the keyword (more like key-sentence) and stick all the other keywords in the text of the page itself. Example: instead of " Performance Products for Turbo Cars.'' you could say ''Performance manual boost controllers -MBC- for turbo cars''
Also, get as many people (or sites) as you can to put a link to your web site. With Google that really helps (right now you have none!)

ahh, ok. gotcha. Yeah, evolv told me things have changed a bit since it was done also, I'm not up to date on this stuff lol.

Hmm, there are at least 4 sites I can think of off the top of my head that have links to mine- how can you tell if there are any or not?

I'll have to get working on it. Thanks!!
Joe

Took a little while to get this up, but just wanted to let you guys know that all the pre-orders have been shipped. You probably have them by now though. The pre production sale is over and they are now regular retail price of $50 shipped. I have silver and black both in stock now. Thanks.
Joe

Thanks for the input :). Just wanted to know if you have had any issues with it "twisting" from hose pressure? Unfortunately, I can't test it in every situation. I never encountered it, and have not heard of anyone having problems, but I just want to know if any one has encountered it. If you pay attention and keep the hose from twisting when adjusting, I can't see anyone ever having a problem, but you never know what will happen once a product goes to market and gets in the publics hands :).

so this new mbc does not allow as much boost spike as the original because of the smaller bleeder but it does affect spool up right? I have the original and it spikes like crazy. I was thinking about getting a new one from another company. but if this version controlls spike alot better than the old one I might buy one of thses cause it looks alot better than some of the other ones out there. almost forgot, how much boost spike is there I was to run a little higher boost but I cant because of the spike. thanks
