I got off and was going to my mother in laws house and all of the sudden the rpms jumped and the battery light came on and I had no throttle response. I had to shift to nuetral then back into drive. Its like i was just coasting with the clutch in. Its an auto. a few seconds later, all of the electronics just shut off and came back on. Im stumped. Any suggestions would be awesome.

I checked the connections on the teminals as soon as I got there and they are both tight. What does it do when you drop a cell?

i honestly dont know what to tell you, but i will tell you my batt took a s*** on me last month, it just didnt start one day. Got a new battery and problem was fixed, however i NEVER got a battery light for some reason.

so if you actually got the light you may have a code, check with odb II.

So say the battery is bad, how would that have affected the rpm jump and not having any throttle response?

The ECU controls ignition and needs proper voltage to function. A drop in voltage can make it do weird things.

I'm more inclined to think it's the alternator that has some sort of bad connection. The car will run normally with the battery disconnected.

When my battery light went off it was because of a bad alternator.

Check your light green/white wire going to the alternator for a bad connection.

A bad connection has intermittent symptoms.
