MPI Tuner?

If you really want a S4 or M3 in the next year I suggest no bothering to tune the car and just run a good FMIC and exhaust and maybe adjust the boost a lil higher though. It just depends how much fun you want to have with the MSP while you still have it. I just don't see a reason to dump a bunch of money into a car you're not keeping for very long.

I agree....any $ you put in now, pretty much you won't see back (if you are getting rid of the MSP). And the sonner you get that M3....well the sooner you rule and the sooner I hate you. :)

MPI is cheaper if you already have a boost controller, a wideband and tuning knowledge :) I suggest you don't change turbo kits though; for reliability reasons and the stock t25r can make more than enough power to make the rods dance outside the cylinder walls. I think some basic bolt-ons is the best bet for you. I sure as hell can't wait to install my fmic, exhaust and intake.

An E36 is an excellent choice. My father used to have a chipped E36 325i and it was a blast to drive.

haha, exactly!(stash)

:shudder: white is the WORST color for bimmers. looks hella clean though. price should be around 18-19K IIRC. I was looking in the 15K price range and everything that came up had 80K+miles. The cars become a chore to maintain after 120K, so the lower the miles the better!

Theyve got a few other ones there including an M coupe. All of their prices are high. there is also an E30 M3 for sale

Hahha. My MSP has 50K on it now. I have that mentality and thats why I bought a brand new car last time. I would like to have both but $$$$

oh s***, time to check out the site for the e30. i need to get a towel to wipe the drool off my face

Great! I will be waiting to hear how install / tune goes. I just got off the phone with Nick from MPI, very good at answering my questions and explaining things to me. Spent time with me on the phone until everything I wanted to know was answered....and I never even said I was going to buy one. THAT is good service, and why I will probably turn to MPI for management.

This thread kinda took a turn....sorry Gbourdon! In regards to dual injectors....what boost levels would you be planning to run? With stock internals, the boost levels should be kept relatively low....thus reducing the need for dual injectors. Someone please correct me if I am wrong...
I willl probaly run 12 psi and see how it goes then maybe 14 psi with race gas . I am going to try to take lots of pics and give as much info as i can on install. I have dynoed before mpi at 201 whp 207 tq so when i am done iw ill redyno and see what she is . This will all taake time as iam going to tak emy time learning the tuning . When done i will give my best assesment on this product , which i beleive will be very good. Nick said get the car running right then Install right ,tune right and then it will run right , so i will follow his words and this thing will be fun again to me. I love it now at 9 psi but 12 tuned will be fun i hope .

Um....you forged? I would think about that before going 14+ psi. FYI....Nick said stock injectors are ok under ~11-12psi.

I'm stock with a MPI and a exhaust ... I've run 13.15. hehe

I love my MPI.

niiiice

So how hard was it to tune the MPI? Or did Nick send it along with the tuner....

If you want to keep stock feel, keep the mpi as timing controller and extra fuel injector without turbo module.

Analog input and output will clamp O2 signal, extra injectors will add fuel needed on boost and timing will control the retard.

Also I must suggest you a MAP sensor for boost reference.

I have unleashed a lot of potential on this unit, Im even running without MAF, everything is being controlled thru a 2.5bar map sensor.

I guarantee you that you will not have issues! I been without issues for long and boosted up to 15psi

This was the first time for me with anything other than a Holley carb. when it came to tuning. However I had already played with boost pressure sensors and resistors so I had an idea of where I wanted to go with it. I still have yet to read the manual so I'm sure I have a long way to go to getting to the full potential of it.
