finally got a set of SS braided lines that fit the saab turbo. 3rd times a charm I guess.at least now I have fittings for every other t25 so if this one ever fails I can easily sub in a different t25.
probably gona take the car apart next friday and put everything together
I ended up having to make a little brace for the wastegate bracket to position it further away from the turbo. And then a JDM bend to the WG actuator arm to keep it moving freely
once i get a set of 550 injectors i will go to the dyno.
everything ending up great. I tuned the car last night at 5psi boost on 87 octane for now. It is pulling great. (it was also -6 last night so im sure that helps with the fmic getting chilled thoroughly)
one thing i have noticed is that spool is nowhere near as nice as with the t25r on a 2.0l FSDE. One thing I loved with the FSDET is that when you are cruising in say 4th or 5th and give just a little throttle the turbo would spool so quickly it was almost like n/a power delivery. With the 1.8 on the non BB turbo you have to put your foot down a little bit more than I was expecting. Its not HUGE lag, but it is lag compared to the stock MSP FSDET setup.
Now I know why the GTX came with the vj-20. For DD it is more responsive than the T25.
Either way I am very happy with how the car pulls at 5psi. Now I need those 550s and will tune for 14psi on 94 octane.
My BP05 vs the VVT setup. For the VVT I am going to try and keep the injectors in the ITBs. For BP05 setup with the injectors in the stock location I had to have the different flange to clear the stock injectors.
Can you tell I had someone else weld it? lol Jeff < Nice Welding
