AEM SRI SUCKS!!! Cheap product.(Pics)!!!!

Have you ever done an intake? Although the install is fairly straight-forward, it can be a challenge for someone with limited experience in modding. I'm sorry to hear of your problems, but if you are new to modding or not, take advantage of the knowledge of forum members. It wouldn't surprised me if someone nearby volunteered to come out and help.

The leg that connects to the throttle body doesn't look extremely long. That part should butt up against the throttle body. As with the filter, you could've put more of the neck onto that section of pipe.

Yeah i might do that. BUT i don't feel like fixing their POS. Not after that they told me that I should of got a EBAY INTAKE instead. Thanks for your advice!!

well, since the cut on the pipe sucks anyway, mind as well trim it down to fit! that way, you get rid of the burring and will save you money on sending it back and then waiting for them to correct it. it's still $175, and you probably won't get that money back either way, so mind as well make it right at this point. sorry to hear about this bad experience.

My P5 is a Auto. The Intake i received is 22-480C. Which is the right one!!

Dude that sucks man.....I wish you luck on that.

My AEM short Ram hasn't had a problem yet...., I wonder did you get the right intake?....the Short ram for the P5/Mazdaspeed/and regular sedan are different.

I'm not new at moding cars. I have installed my first intake which is the INJEN CAI,then this s***. The Injen was much harder, and i had no problem.

I can't insert the neck more, cause as you can see on the pic,the temp. sensor is in the way.

That's an AEM intake? I thought the tubes were always blue....do you have an auto or a manual tranny?

he got an auto... and the part number he got is the right one. the aem intake comes in silver, blue, red or polished finish.

I don't clean it much. It stayed so clean, cause i don't drive much. The P5 is 3 1/2 years old,and i only have 22500 miles on it. My drive to way each day is 0.6 MILES BOTH WAY. haha. The warm up time,is actually longer then the drive. I'm HAPPY,cause the price for gas kept getting higher.

your engine bay is beautiful..i wish I could get mine clean like that

i spent 60 bucks on a ractive SRI setup, had the same problem, so i cut the tube that connects to the throttle body a bit, in result cured the problem but tweaked the portion of the intake after the MAF to a weird angle so i cut that mofo too, now everything is all good

Never had a problem with mine on my P5. The manual intake was much different design then that one.

if u got the manual version of the intake, it would have been closer to being a cai than the auto's sri...i have an automatic and im using the aem sri for manual trannies...no problems here for the past year...

Look at the neck area. I clamped so tight,it even made makes on it. Look at the poor cutting job at the edge... Unbelieveable!! Name Brand product MY ASS!!!!!!

thats a horrible cut job, ur right.. and the quality on the tubing is poor... it shouldnt leave deep marks like that.. the injen one doesnt

hmmm never had a problem with my aem sri except for it proved a loss in hp on the dyno over the stock intake and then a 14whp gain over stock when we modified its mounting posisition.

turn the pipe on the filter side of the mp3 around so the filter end is into the maf and the filter is laced on the maf end, lay the filter where the coolant overflow tank should be.
