that's a cool idea, I wish I had heard about that before

but I'll be tearing out my intake in a few weeks anyway to make room for (sssh)

FOR WHAT!!! don't hold us in suspense

that's cool, I obviously haven't read every thread on this board :D

UPDATE: Still have not received anything back from AEM. No E-mail,NO phone call.been almost a month. Called them up today, and found out that my Piece of s*** AEM SRI is still sitting at the inspection dept. They havn't even bother to open it,and to correct it. I really think i'm going to lose my money on this intake. I don't think i'm going to get it back from those ASSHOLES at AEM.
This is the kind of customer service AEM provides. I own a business too, if i made a mistake on my products, i would have CORRECT the problem ASAP, and apologize for the mistake. Doesn't take a genius understand that.

I will NEVER EVER buy everything that has the AEM or DC sport logo again.

I got my CAI for 50 bucks off of ebay, exact injen replica, with black silicone hoses. Looks great and a hassle free install, just without instructions :-p

X3Racing All The Way!!!!!!

Okay finally got the intake back from aem.Looks like they shortened the elbow pipe a little. But they sent the wrong color. Now i got the elbow pipe in chrome and the rest in silver. ******* Genius work. I'm going to paint match them myself cause god knows how long it's going to take for them to exchange it. Anyone knows how to paint them ? Can i just sand them real good them apply the paint ?

the phone conversation does not surprise me in the least. people i have talked to at AEM were nothing less than the rudest, crudest, most inconsiderate slang throwers of any company I have ever spoken to. they have no regard for thier retailers' needs and are not afraid to say so. to them, the fact that you buy thier products is a priviliege. i tried to explain this on the mazda3forums during the initial fiasco with the 2.3 liter intakes, and the lemmings over there accused me of slandering a fine and upstanding manufacturer. priceless.

Okay finally got it all installed. Perfect fit this time. here's some pics.

I prefer the heatsheild in the pic. But don't know who makes it. The one i have is ok,but you must make some fine adjustment inorder for it to clear the hood linings.
