6 1/2's in a DX?

from what i understand i can fit 6.5's in the front doors of a dx. correct me if i'm wrong. i'm trying to salvage as much from my mx3 as i can...

A 6 1/2 can indeed fit but it takes a little modification. You'll need a 1/2 spacer ring. Also you need to trim the ring on the back of the door panel. Any good stereo shop should be able to manage the task for around $60.

i'm gonna do all the work myself, i just wanted to be sure that the hole in the door was large enough. i'll worry about depth clearance later

the hole isn't big enough. The space takes care of that though.

6x8 and 5x7 are paracticly the same thing so if you come across some 6x8s and aren't sure if the'll fit, don't worry they will.
