Zoom zoom BoOm x2.

thanks chad. At least mine ran for alittle while...........

hey, i know destruction is going to happen, lets see what happens to a stock bottom end bigblock soon, eh?

stop messing around with this 13 sec crap though and put a real motor together, havent you heard you cant race your daily driver all the time? i think some of us have told you that once or twice............

360 block-
4" crank
9:1 Forged pistons
Ported/Polsihed X heads
Edelbrock Air gap intake
Paxton cent. supercharger
727
3.91 gears
3,200 car.

11's?

are you kidding me? better go low 11's at least with a blower if not 10's. i think we have seen what a 400" small block is capable of in a HEAVY car. i dont think decent heads and some boost would keep 10's away for very long....... if you can hold on to it.

you have the car, and coulda bought the parts with what you have done already. yes, very impressive with what you accomplished. but, this is the outcome. im not saying i will be immuned to this destruction either, but a 400" big block with a bitty 60-1 should go 10's and im figureing the t-76 should go 9's later. .......for about the same as what you invested in the mazda

food for thought, eh?

theyre talking about not modifying the proteges cause they are timebombs and use a real big v8 to get fast.

Turbodart is a good friend and is currently building a very mean streetTurbo'd big block dodge dart. Hoping to go 10's-9's.

He is trying to make me stop spending money on the protege and put it into the scamp.

im just a fan of speed, we have known each other for 10 years. i just hate to see someone sink that much money in a street car and go that fast (which isnt really that fast), when he coulda gone 2-3 sec faster on the same money.

yes, really fast 4 cyls are cool, but, like anything there are limits. i think he has reached the limit for this everyday car. i am very impressed with what he has done, but i think he needs to see the light and go back to his roots and just put a nice daily driving car back together, and drive a better car at the track.

my car will run anywhere on poo gas, and crank the boost up with good gas and let er rip. but if it breaks, im not out of my ride to work. plus, when you work on cars all day (like he does and i have) and then have to fix your own crap just to get to work everyday, it really sucks. i learned long ago wrenching all the time sucks. he should be out enjoying life--not stuck at work putting his car back together.

well it's all well and good in the dart...

Until you have to turn ;)

I've been building the protege as purely a wicked wicked unlimited class road race vehicle... my buddy with his NA P5 was riding the ass of all the STI's in the corners... and then they'd own him in the straights... but the cornering capability of these cars is amazing when setup properly... and very forgiving because of the FWD for a first true track car.. hence the reason I have it and build it the way I do... I've NEVER been a fan of a 1/4 run... it's just mashing pedals and grabbing gears (with skill to do it properly)... but frankly.. I live my life more than 10 seconds at a time ;).

it also comes down to the MSP being different. plenty of big block out there but not many MSP w/ a built motor at that.

Correction.. there isn't any extra heat... just that the rate of heat is greater than the rate of rejection and increases the overall heat that is latent due to the inability for it to be conducted out...

Thats what I meant, same heat, faster movement, less transfer. So basically more heat will be kept in the chamber, and even worst, with that T25 turbine and a modded compressor side it will put such flow into the chamber that will be too much for the turbine, it will reach its max rpm and will not flow more exhaust gases.

yes, yes indeed. thats why i have another dart just for such occasions. he'll tell you that im not afraid to hang that one out in the corners either (rockon)

i dont want one car that does it all, but thats just me.

I have my POS blazer as a daily driver... so I'm backed up... but frankly I have less problems with the MP3 than I do with the blazer LOL.

hey, you know, i was expecting to get slaughtered here comming on and busting a few stones. you guys are pretty good. thanks. its nice to be treated like a human by 4 cyl guys, instead of the usual crap you see/hear.

don't get me wrong either.. I'd love to pick up another project car like a supra, GT-R, or get into the older Chevelle's, Dart's, Camaro's, Fastback Mustang's, etc as a brute force car... but once we get past the transmission issues on the Mazda's I'm curious to see what power levels will be achieved... after that I'm going to work on traction improvements, and possible full drivetrain conversions. It'll be fun...
