hey, you know, i was expecting to get slaughtered here comming on and busting a few stones. you guys are pretty good. thanks. its nice to be treated like a human by 4 cyl guys, instead of the usual crap you see/hear.

Well, MOST of us just love cars, power, and driving... So last I checked the Dart has 4 wheels and runs on gasoline... so it's all good with me! :)

If someone sees me inside one of those boats, please shoot me in the head. (braindead Its ugly.

I think people modify their proteges because they like the car, and like the idea of mod it and run faster, not looking for 10s cars. Its just the little engineering mind of ours of what can we pull out of this car.

We all know you can pull more power out of V8's, but personally I dont see me inside one of those and that could be the case of a lot of people here...just asuming.

Big car, w/ V8s inside stops being impressive when you see a 4banger hitting 9s and 10s (rockon)

Street legel[maybe]cars down there, not up here.

He may mean "streetable" cars that can still get around on public roads without too much hassle. Street legal may be another story, not sure.

-so what is streetable? to me, if you can pass annual inspections and manage to get insurance and tags, its all good. some wouldnt like riding in a full cage car with a bunch of tin rattleing between you and the road, no a/c, and cant stop and steer overly well. to me, i love it, and yes, i still have to make comprimises to use it on the street. please dont get me wrong here guys, there is some very respectable stuff here, and yes, there was a time when we were all slow.

bottom line is, when you see something impressive, you have to give credit. i think the car that this thread is about is quite impressive for a daily driven car, but i also know he is tired of wrenching on it--all the time. sucks to have car payments/insurance on a car you cant drive. i would like to see him go into 12's with the thing as stock looking as it is, however, you have to decide when enough is enough though, and step up or get stepped on.

and oh yea, that is detonation big time, i can see the pits from here (and not from where the shrapnel was bouncing around). we discussed this already though, this is the first i seen the pics.

Yeah that one definitely shows signs of it.. but like I said I'm surprised how the other DON'T seem to show any signs of it... that's what weirds me out.. why they are cracked as well and show no pitting or heat marks.

Well I just looked at the video of the run. There is no way high rpm slayed the beast. Something def. slipped, but the video clearing shows the tach and it doesn't look like it went much past 6 or 7k rpm.

Man I wish I could load this datalogg....

Why though? Intake temperatures too high? Fuel mapping not right? Not enough timing retarded? Bad fuel? Idiot driver (given)?

You saw the map I loaded right? The thing would go down to 11.2 a/f and slowly creep back up to like 12:1 (through the stock o2 sensor). I kept adding fuel until it chugged then backed some off.

I need to know why this happened or I'm gonna drive myself crazy. If it was my fault, it doesn't bother me as I have done/and will do worse things. Not knowing kills me.

turbo dart... off topic but why wouldnt you turbo the straight six. My pops had one and that motor took the biggest beating. Just curious, dont know enough about em.

He has a slant six dart, I wouldn't count that out.
