Hello, I just wanted to let you guys know that today my friend and I took off the resonator and first cat, then gutted them both and threw the pipe back on. We also took a saw and cut off the bottom half off the airbox, so that the intake can flow a little better. I know my warrenty is toast but,...............the car is way better now. IdleS great, hesitation and stumble is gone. those 2 pipes were just filled with card/filter stuff, amazingly restrictive. The turbo and blow off valve sound great, sounds like the turbo sratrs kicking in around 2200, or so.

Just wanted to let you gys here about it, worth it ifyour flexible or have an workable dealership[

I hope when you go to sell your car, the buying dosent mind that you hacked away all the s***. Good luck with that one.

now what did you do with the intake?? cut the bottem off?? like, to where it is just the filter facing down or what? you got any pix?

well if you want to cal me a ricer, thats fine
i am going to buy the injen intake anyways
and also planned on doing full exaust work as well
never thought i would get such negative feedback on this forum

i cut it off about an inch undreneath the fasteners on the bottom intake part, so that it still sits safely inside the box, but has the ability to grab a larger quantity of air as it needs to

by the way, these mods did not make me sound Loud at all, if thats why you guys called me riced, it jst opened up some of the backpressure that was choking our cars

yes it is really loud, it makes this very low pitched rattle sound
it will satisfy until i get the hks bov

Just not the best way to go about doing the job, but to each their own.

If you don't plan on reselling the car then it is fine, but if you want to resell then you would have been better off getting a custom pipe made to replace the resonator. It only cost me $15 bucks at my local muffler shop. I still have the resonator if I want to put it back on.

But if your happy that's all that matters. :D

True dat...True dat.

Hey man rip that s*** out who cares it's your ride man.
Yes all the trees are gonna die now and we will all be forced to live in neo-socialist hippie commune and play bongos, eat peode, our women will grow their body hair out, and the polar ice will melt all because one man made the terrible decision to remove his cardboard like stuff.

Excuse me I must now go and commit ritual suicide.

does your state test emissions?
good luck passing them!

I will post the price of that converter section cause I work with mazda. You do realize that converter sections cost alot of money right? The RX-7's cost about 1700 dollars from the factory. your quick tune trick is going to cost you more than a section of pipe and two flanges down the road

no my state does ot have emissions tests
could you please go further into this convertor section thing
i dont quite understand
