Zaino vs NXT

It has abrasives in it. Which in "theory" could damage paint. So can synthetics.

It's all theory, and even if it is true, I'd say it would take 5 years before you see it.

I would LOVE to treat my car to Zaino, and from what I've heard it is the best. Unfortunately the price tag is uber hefty - otherwise I'd already be using it. That's why I was looking at the NXT as a cheap alternative.

How do you like the results? I'm planning on keeping this car for a while and I want it looking good as long as I have it. I'm getting this info off the long post on the previous page from the person who checked out several different posts.

Simply put. If I could go to the store and pick up a bottle of Nxt for 10 bucks......I would do that BEFORE trying Zaino.

What do you have to lose?

NXT is not available in Canada. So I had to make a different choice.

I just recently used Zymol Cleaner wax...cheap, easy, a little too much rubbing, though. My previous method was Meg's Cleaner, 3M wax, and Meg's polish...that lasted a little less than 5 months sitting outside. I don't have grand hopes for the Zymol lasting...we'll see how it turns out, though. So far it's done admirably.

But I'll be seriously looking into Zaino...

179.00 shipped to me door. Damn 15% taxes! I also got some 3m scratch remover. Good stuff to have just in case.

Did you order from the Candian site??? www.zaino.ca

I paid 145.52 (that included standard shipping and taxes)

I ordered the Zaino starter kit.. which included 2 free towel pads.

yup, that's the site. I got the kit, 2 free pads($127), 3m scratch/swirl remover( 19.95) and shipping (9)

Killer is, in nfld, we have 15% tax. This is not usually a problem when ordering from out of province. Usually it's only 7% out of province. But for some reason, this time it's 15%?

Strange. But has happened before. Seems anything that has to come up from the US first gets 15% added.

well, technically, NXT is a snythetic Wax, and Zaino is a poly....something or other. Synthetic wax isn't the best thing for protecting cars anyways. So in this case, Zaino should be better in the long run. Zaino has been proven to be one of the most durable waxes anyways.

I too am interested in seeing how it protects the car from fine scratches, acid rain, bird crap and so on. I've read mixed results about this for ALL waxes. So, I'll have to make my own decision there. I'll get back to you...

NXT wont hurt your paint, and is clear coat safe. I doubt it wouldbe on the shelves if it werent for show cars with clear coat...
It might be quite as good as protecting the paint, but ive had it on for 2 weeks or so now, and its still doing great.

Zaino is definately the best, but NXT is a very good alternative.

Ok, 127 + shipping Canadian gets me a zaino kit.

60 bucks gets me some Meguiars NXT s***

I usually use Mothers 3 stage, and steer away from meguiar's. Why? Well, Mothers smells better :) no, j/k but I always found meguiar's doesn't last for s***. Just washes right off in a few weeks, and it's a SOB to put on.

But i have not tried the new NXt stuff

every year I almost get zaino. but Zaino is still a lot of money for "wax". But the ease of application and the bowling ball shine appeals to me. But for 127 bucks, I'm thinking, am I nuts? I don't usually keep the car beyond two years anyways. I think I will have the msp for 3 yrs this time though.

Anyone got any experience with both?

Guess what I got today! My Zaino Kit!

Now all I need is SUN!!! Where can I order that from?

Actually, it is nice out today. At least here. most of the island is getting 20cm of snow as I type. But we are lucky so far. Just not warm enough for waxing yet :( Strange spring so far

Now, I wonder how much I'll have to mix in order to do the car....hmmm.....

Well, I got the NXT this weekend and was able to do my car on Saturday. My hubby said he didn't think it looked any different but that's no biggie for me, I had just used Zymol cleaner wax on it the weekend before so I wasn't expecting a super difference. I thought it looked very reflective and was quite beautiful for about 5 mins before it got a nice coat of pollen. :D As far as it lasting, dunno yet but it was so damn easy to apply and take off I would use it every time I wash. Effortless and made the car look beautiful. Not bad for $15 and not having sore arms! Next step is to do a Dawn wash, claybar THEN wax again. Got some rough paint!

Same here... Ive got all sorts of crazy layers of waxes, polishes, detailers all over. My paint is very smooth, but i definately need to strip all of it off and start fresh with NXT.

I just used the Spray on Booster wax today, and it works nicely, and very easy to apply. I was an idiot though, and applied it in the hot sun on hot black paint. Left some strange looking streaks that didnt want to buff out.

I shoulda put the car in the garage and let it cool off to apply it, but i didnt.
I will next time though, and im hoping the spray booster wax allows me to only wax 3-4 times a year, if i use it every few washes, instead of the 7-8 i was going to use with regular wax.

We'll see, but so far NXT is great stuff.

LOL! That's why I got up at the crack of dawn (6:00) to wash/wax last Saturday for the ProMazda meeting. Tell ya one thing, having a lot of meetings keeps my car lookin' good all summer! I like the NXT also, if nothing else than the ease of use. It is wonderful to still have use of your arms after waxing the car! :D

Hey, has anyone heard of or used the Eagle One Nanowax yet? I was debating at the auto parts store when I got my NXT. Supposedly this stuff has nano sized carnuba wax particles and is supposed to be great at filling in swirl marks.

well, I must be nuts. I know the neighborhood surely thinks I am, but f em.

Just spend 4 hours claying, and prepping the car for the Zaino. She's getting 3 coats tommorow. I did take some before pics, before I clayed. I'll post the pics after I slave tomorrow zaino'ing it.It's really hard to take a picture of paint to see shine or lack of it.

I'll try.

these are before shots. one side was in sunlight ( note metallic) the other side was not in sun ( flat grey). As you can see, my paint even with no wax, and after all winter is reflective anyways. It'll be interesting to see how much better it gets.

After pics tomorrow.

btw: The zaino bar works well. My car is baby ass smooth. A clay bar is a clay bar though. I wouldn't go out of my way to get the Zaino bar. Just get meguiars or Mothers for that part. And you don't need to spend as much time as I did to do it either. I just want a perfectly clean surface for the zaino to go on.

Before PICS NO WAX!!! NO CLAY. Turtle Bug/tar remover was used 3 weeks ago while waiting for my zaino. She's been Dawn washed 3 times in the past week to strip old wax off. Trust me, there is NO wax on this thing.

Since I am don't have that much money to spend, and too much time to sacrifice.

I use use Mothers Carnauba Cleaner Wax finished off with a coat of Zymol Cleaner Wax using a random orbital buffer, takes me a hour, and it looks pretty damn good. Good protection for about 2 months and great shine.

I sometimes swap the Mothers with Eagle One Nanowax to cover up the surface scratches.
