I've been doing some reading on other forums. I have no experience with both waxes yet
NXT = one step. You want easy, this is it.
Zaino = more work apparantly. Not really though. You'll have to clay/prep before using any wax to do it right. And while Zaino requires layers to be at it's best....guess what, it's no different then putting on another coat of wax on any car, except it's a lot easier.
Some have complained of NXT being hard to get off in comparison to Zaino. But, this may be due to applying it to thick. Thin coats, let it sit for 45 mins, wipe off. Of course temperature has a factor in how long you wait, some say 15 mins is enough. NXT apparantly uses abrasives, and is synthetic. Meguiars has even admitted this. The abrasives aren't really strong, no worse then a cleaner wax. But, over time, it may not "protect" your paint as good as others. Synthetic's are the same thing. They "Might" hurt your paint, and prevent any future body work to be done easily. These are all really theories in my opinion, and since NXT is new. Nobody really has any proof either way.
Zaino = More steps. Well, sorta. You do have to mix the ZFX accelerator into the wax ( 2 min work), and there is an order to how you apply Z2,Z5 which are different waxes. I use the term wax losely here as it's really not a conventional wax. But, for the most part, there is no really hard buffing like conventional waxes. You simply apply VERY VERY thin coats of it. let it dry for 30 mins at least. Then come out and just clean it up a little with some detailer and a rag. Then start your next coat. No sore arms from buffing contrary white paste like mothers and meguiars other products. Zaino is also layerable. You can add layer after layer, and the shine just keeps getting better. Believe it or not, a lot of off the shelf waxes are not layerable in the sense that the shine actually gets better. Zaino does. And Zaino seems to be the preferred wax for anyone that wants durability with it still beading water/shining after 90-120 days. I've had numerous people tell me this on other forums. Of course, how long it lasts also depends on where you live, if you garage it, and most importantly, how you prep'd the car, and done each layer. Also, you can put Zaino on EVERYTHING on the car. No need to worry about getting the white wax on rubber and s***. Even stick it on your wheels.
Nxt seems to last on daily cars for no more then 3 weeks, maybe 4.
Again. I'm saying this based on a SHITLOAD of posts I've read on various forums ( vette, porsche, autopia etc), and emails sent to me over the past 4 weeks while choosing a new wax.
Zaino has been around a long time. NXT is the new kid on the block and is supposed to be the next best thing. There are a lot of people that love/hate NXT. But, the main opinion of Zaino seems to be that if you use it right, it's da bomb. and while other Waxes that were supposed to revolutionize everything have come and gone, Zaino is still here doing it best. it seems to be the wax that every other wax is trying to beat. The benchmark if you will
KLASSE, Wolfgang, S100 ( Harley wax) and Pinnalcle, all seem to have a good rep as well. I don't think you can go wrong with either. Zymol is loved by many, but there high end waxes are apparantly no better then the off the shelf stuff and a waste of money. Were talking 1500 bucks a bottle with free refills for life type of wax.
