Yet Another P-5 Clone coming

Now it seems BMW is getting in on the "not-quite-a-wagon" hatchback craze with their 1-series. And of course, the sillouette looks amazingly like the original car that I'm sure spawned the Vibe, the Matrix, the IS-300 Sportcross, and probably many others to come. But the P5 did it first.

I've only heard rumors- but it is coming out in september- 130hp not quite a wagon- and early next year a 170hp turbo diesel will be released- the best part is the non turbo starts at about 18k- for a beemer(with all the benes- the only maintenance that you have to do is tires!) fully loaded with turbo for about 24-25k... hmm, might make me a believer in german autos(now that I could actually get one)

I thought it was either the PT-cruiser and the Sabaru WRX wagon that did it first.

And I remember many years ago, Honda Civic already have an STD 4WD wagon back in 1990, while Toyota also has it 4dr SR5 AED wagon back in 1990. Well, these 2 many not even close to what we have now but I thought PT-cruiser was the first.

As for the Bimmer..it looks like an X3 and a Z4 had a love child..

Says it has rear wheel drive, which must be pretty cool, can you say no torque steer...., and it has push button starting....looks an awful lot like the mazda3 to me....6spd manual or 6spd auto.....I think it looks pretty good, give it a year to work out the bugs and get one in06....turn the pr5 into project car.....

Looks like a Korean design to me. Too round for my taste.
