Im not really mad at all, I could actually care less....I was just kinda bashing the Kia.....if companies want to copy our car, that just means the car is a good one..its interesting that we have a car that was discontinued yet other companies seem to be making very similar cars that are coming out 2 years after the p5 was discontinued....either mazda is ahead of the game or Kia is about 2 years behind.....either way Im happy with my car, especially the fact I paid less than 15k for it, and it is loaded...(headbang)

the kia spectra5 is pretty much a carbon copy...it even has the same sized engine, transmission tunnel, door panels/handles, the headlights look like they were just enlarged. i think mazda should sue for infringement. and the name ?? come on, protege5, spectra5 ? gimme a break

*i hope no one buys this car. kia thinks they can steal the wagon market with this car, so i hope mazda is prepared to do some battle w/ the mazda3 hatch

Well, I actually wouldn't mind people buying that spectra5.
It will just make us Protege5 owners feel much much better.

I do agree that it seems to be a blatant rip off but what are you going to do about it. You so mad about KIA ripping off Mazda, what about Mazda saying screw the P5 and only building it for a few years then abandoning us. Mazda could've done so much more with the P5 but it seems like it was the bastard child of the Protege family. If you're gonna get mad, be made at the whole aftermarket community for taking so long to make parts for our car and still after 3 years theres still allot parts that aren't available for our car that you can get on so many other cars. Example: HID headlights

They will be bringing a "2" series which is basically a 2-door version of the "1".

There will always be a special place in my heart for bimmers *blush*.
