yes, fel pro is a gasket company like cometic...cometic also makes a cork oil pan gasket if you aren't a fan of fel pro (I know there are a lot of peeps who don't like fel pro)...rtv is messy, a pain to get to seal right if you aren't working with a lift and have the engine inside the car, and a hassel if you ever need to take the pan off again...just use a cork gasket, WAY easier (band)

i've literally never had good experiences with cork gaskets. always leak. bad seal. you have to torque them down perfect to even think about the right seal.. RTV for me. i've never had an issue. doesn't take long to do.

you should be using proper torque spec and sequence anyway...I've never had a problem with a correctly installed gasket.

So I guess no?

Also, which is the best wideband to go with? I've heard bad things about the AEM Uego so I'm just curious which brand is usually the best choice.

+1, I've NEVER had a cork oil pan gasket not seal on me....I've had fitment issues with the fel pro ones before, but only once and I've used them since (never had a fitment issue with cometic)...rtv is just way too much of a pain, especially when the engine is still in the car and you don't have a lift to get a nice and high work environment

Just one opinion of course, but I sure like my Autometer Procomp Ultralite wideband. When I had the car dynoed, I had the guy check it against the dyno readings and he said it was dead on.

I was thinking prosport just cause it would match the other gauges I have from them(I hate mix matching), has anyone had anything bad to say about their prosport afr?

prosports have a reputation of being somewhat inaccurate... but I have NO idea if that would apply to a WB...

Well, for what its worth the ProComp Ultralite also has datalogging cababilities.
I like having matching gauges too, and went all Ultralite digital gauges because the readout is red to match the gauge lighting and they have the brushed silver bezels which match the Dave Bs perfect.

Can anyone account for the prosport being inaccurate?

Well, the cf hood has been sold so I just bought a Auto Meter Phantom Vacuum/Boost Gauge, a 2.0" to 2.5" Black FMIC Coupler Adapter and a msp heat shield. This completes my online purchases for the turbo install.

Only things that are left to do: I need to get the BOV flange welded on, vac lines and oil+oil filter :)

I also took back the rtv today and picked up a fel pro gasket from autozone so I will not be installing the oil pan this weekend, it will be installed with the turbo. I still will be cutting up the crash bar to mount the intercooler though.

Whoooo booooossstttt!!!

i just installed one on alex-theezvs car... it looks nice, easy install..

also, it seemed accurate..
i do have an inaccurate boost gauge.. but only 1 psi...

and i strongly urge you not to waste your time/money with the cork gasket. keep the rtv. it's good for many uses

and I very strongly urge you away from rtv...save your time for a JUST as comperable part greg, trust me
