I believe I found mine on the forums for about 40-50 and it's a little scratched but still in pretty good shape.

I bought a used one but was wondering if the thread was right where the opening is or about an inch inside? The knob doesnt fit on my shifter. I can take pictures if needed.

FYI: I do not have an MSP, I have a 99 Protege with a stock shifter.

I have the same problem unfortunately. I bought a sparco shift knob from someone on here, and it doesnt thread onto my stock shifter or my twm short shifter. It has holes for set screws, but they don't hold the knob in place.
