most need a real mp3 ecu to flash with
most need a real mp3 ecu to flash with
so..i just put my ecu in. No noticeable difference yet except for the fact i'm paying $1.10 for a Liter of 91 octane. Super rich under WOT. But 3rd gear pulls a bit better on the highway...like above 100kph. The car seems to want to pull past 6500rpm now.
So does anyone have the procedure to reflash an ECU to the MP3 map given that we have both the donor (MP3) and recipient ECUs together??? Is this something a Mazda Dealer can do with their existing equipment?
I've located a dealer who is willing to do this for all of us (for a fee) if he only knew how. He has a new MP3 ECU on hand for that...
Let us how it can be done!
Here's how it was explained to me by a buddy that works at a dealership.
you need to have 2 cars
1 w/ the MP3 ecu. The other with the old one. They hook up to the OBDII port, pull the code off of the MP3 computer and upload it to the non-MP3 car.
Great questions! Let me know when you find an answer. I went the easy route and, just slapped an MP3 ECU in mine lolInteresting. So, not only is the MP3 ECU is required, but the MP3 car is required too? Couldn't one use a single Protege by swapping the MP3 ECU in and out or do two proteges need to be hooked up simultaneously? Can the computer store the info or does this procedure need to be done for each ECU recipient flashed?
I mean not really, it's just not very happy. I ride with the windows down most of the time anyway, but the few times I have the A/C on it seems to be a LOOOOT weaker. Worse than w/ the stock ECU
Never noticed any issue with mine and the AC. Maybe just AMaff? Anyone else?
once you get moving it's not too bad. From a stop? Terrible.
mines awful stop and go with ac on
does ne one know the code on this ECU cuz the scrap yard is asking me so they can see if they have one ... US and CAN if there diff plz .. thanks alot guys.
