Hmm, RISM, I'm not much for 3D art on a pc but I'll say that the piping will take a 90* bend from the blower and run parallel to the radiator/engine until it gets to the #4 cylinder it'll take another 90* bend up shortly to the MAF....from the maf it'll go straight to another 90* bend....
I remember the drawing he tried to make of this for me. IT had a few blocky shapes and a couple little stringy ones that I guess represented the piping. The whole time he was explaining it I was just like "Oh, I see.""Ok, I get what you mean." I understand now, but I sure as hell didn't then.

wel the group buy isnt mine i was in on it but then because of money issues i had to decline..matthew is in charge of that group buy and i have it posted to get more people to join it for better deals...right now im seeing on where i want to go with my car and if i want to keep it, i am considering keeping it stock and trading it in for a wrx maybe if money permits...i just might end up keeping it and modding it but as of yet its money savings time haha...

and i am interested in he supercharger because its safer then a turbo...somewhat cheaper..and will give me the power i need/want or so i hope. plus i want the car to last me a long time so i think supercharger is my route...plus i dont use the a/c much in the summer anyways so whats the point ;)

right now im just saving money and seeing what i want to do as far as projects go...but we shall see what happens as the future comes i dont mean to threadjack but if you guys have any advice im open to it

somewhat cheaper?? If I can lock down these prices with my suppliers you're looking at almost $1K less than a similar turbo kit. That $1K will go a long way towards other mods...

I'm really pleased with all of the good buzz this project is getting. The more potentiak buyers I have lined up the better I'll be able to lock down pricing. The more pre-orders the better!

Could the fitment br adapted to use a long jack shaft and keep the AC pump in place ,by mounting the SCunit towards the drivers side ,I know this will add to the cost ,I am asking this because some my want to keep their AC inplace

I'm also interested in the SC kit, dont care about losing the AC since it's so freaking cold in here (in ESTONIA) anyway's.....

But does anybody have any idea how the kit with these spec. suit our engines over here (compression ratio 9.7 compared to 9.1), otherwise the engines seem to be exactly the same.... Or what extra steps should i take to make sure that upon starting the engine it doesn't blow up????

running the blower off the jackshaft is still running the blower off a pulley on that face of the engine. If you try to insert another pulley inbetween the AC and PS then you've just reversed the rotation of the blower and you're sucking and not blowing. So inorder to make it spin correctly you'll have to insert a jackshaft pulley AND an idler pulley to make everyting spin the correct direction. Thats a lot of stuff to cram in a very tiny space. And if you do that you still will damage the belt drive system whenever the ac engages....the ac has to go and thats that. If you have to have the ac then you have to have a turbo. I can set you up with several people that make ac-friendly turbo kits.

Compression ratio is a little high so I would suggest running low boost (no more than 4psi) and the highest octane fuel you can find. The Haltech controller will use your factory knock sensor to help prevent detonation but you should also be using colder spark plugs to further help. This is a good precaution for anyone with FI.

Subscribing!

I just wish my Mustang addiction wasn't going to take $3500 this winter! I hope this kit stays around for a while 'cause I already have the header, etc.

MattyP, you might want to mention that a UDP would throw things off boost wise (as well as for belt tension [that is why I went with the pie-plate sized lower blower pulley {+6psi} on my Lightning]).

I did mention about the UDP in one of my long posts. I thought it was part of the "info thread"....maybe it wasn't. Good point though.

Prices are comparable to a turbo KIT. But any genius can see what's on the list for a turbo kit and piece one together for much cheaper. Cheaper than your WOMP too.

Where is the dyno for this great W.O.M.P??? You are saying it will cost $2600+shipping so I want to know what kind of numders you are planning to get out of this. I can get a Turbonetics T3 w/spearco FMIC all the piping, wastegate, bov, fmu, and fpr for cheaper than that. I know what the numbers will do at 10lbs of boost on this kit.

He is getting it dynoed as soon as he gets the parts back from daveb and has all the piping done. Please have patience.

Without the intercooler, you will experience some hella heatsoak with the piping running around the motor like that.

Again guys, the kit's not put together yet, so we dont know what kinda numbers it will put out. Protito, 10 psi with this blower on a non built motor will almost definatly blow it up. This blower puts out 1000cfm at 12 psi, so the production kit is gonna be at about 6 psi.

n2ocivic, what does an intercooler have to do with heat soak? as the videos have demonstrated, the temps coming off the header 2 inches away arent even enough to hurt bare skin between the blower and the header, and 4 cylinders don't put out a whole lot of heat, so you wanna explain where you get this hypothesis of your from?

All I am trying to do is compare the two. This has been talked about for awhile so how much longer do we wait??? Plus anyone who knows anything about S/C can tell you the numbers will be lower than a turbo at the same boost level due to the power loss of turning an extra pulley. It just does not make sense to me why you would pay that much for a kit that will not produce the same numbers as a turbo with the same boost. You can peice a turbo kit together for cheaper than the cost of that.

Yes, we've all been watching and waiting, and only DaveB can really speak to how much longer the brackets will take... I presume once those get back to Matt and his aluminum gets in, that it will be on his car pretty quickly

Then follows road testing and dyno tuning... I'm hoping to see more progress next month, but it's hard to guess (dunno)

A lot depends on coordinating with others' schedules

Matty has said time and time again that making high numbers is not his priority. How many turbo kits do you know that come with a haltched f10x? There is no way you will find a turbo kit as complete at the WOMP for under 3k dollars. This SC might not make as high numbers as a turbo but it doesnt mean its not gonna be leaving a couple msps in the dust.
