Wiring questions.

:
2002 Protege5
Just replaced the engine in a 2005 2.3, automatic. Unfortunately when I pulled out the engine I missed a plug and yanked the wires out of said plug (jerkit).

I have searched high and low for a manual or wiring diagram for download but have not been successful.

So, if any kind soul would like to PM me about a service manual I could "buy" (wink wink). Or if anyone would like to simply give me the pinout for the plug I need to fix I would greatly appreciate it. The plug goes into black plastic vacuum bulb looking thing under the throttle plate housing. It has 3 wires, Green-White, Brown-White, and White-Purple.

Also, now that I have the engine in I noticed there is one plug right under the sticker that says the fan can chop off your fingers at any time on top of the radiator. I can't find any wire to hook to it, and don't remember disconnecting it so I am thinking it is a diagnostic plug for the fan... maybe? Any info on that would be appreciated as well.

Thanks for any help.

Looking to get moving on this. Called Mazda and they were no help.

How bout this; If someone gives me the info I'll paypal them $5 for the time it takes them to walk out to their garage and get me this info.

I have looked at my 2008 with 2 liter engine and cannot find a plug similar to the one you
describe. In most cases the 2 and 2.3 engines seem to use the same components. Perhaps
I could find the plug if removed the air box.

I have a 2005 wiring diagram and looked through it, I found a plug near the throttle body
with three pins, the color codes are almost the same as you quoted. The location diagrams
in the wiring diagrams only show approximate locations.

Anyway the I think the plug information you need is for the variable tumble valve shutter
switch. It has three wires. Pin A (I'm not sure if the pins are labeled?) has a green/white.
Pin B has a wire labeled B/W. The B is supposed the be for black, according to the color
code symbols in the front of the manual, brown is BR. Pin C has a White/Violet wire.
Purple is not listed in the color codes so I think what you see is a W/V wire.

Hope this information helps, I didn't find any other 3 pin plugs near the throttle body with
wire colors even close to the colors you posted.

The fact that my engine was not starting was unrelated. Found that the plug that activates the starter solenoid had corrosion on it. After shining it up it turned over and is running like a champ. No CEL so going to call it good.

Thanks for the effort Clifton, but yeah those colors are different than what I have.
