Wires ???

Can anyone say which set of wires is better for the MP3, I've heard all the testimony for the sparco wires. But, no one has said any thing about the Magnecor wires?? Is there a big difference or no difference. I have the denso ik20 plugs if that makes a difference?

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Sorry, no answer for your questions... but i was lookin at your mods.... im buying the intake/exhaust cams hopefully within about a month... and I was wondering how much of a diff they made for ya?? also.. I would like to see some pics of the WW Skyline Series Wing... also.. ive noticed EVERYONE has an injen cai... i have one that me and a buddy w/ a shop built custom.. but i kinda want something name brand... im assuming the injen is a good one seeing as how everyone has it, but i would like to be reassured if you could :)

Come on guys, where is the answer for the objective???

Who is using Magnecor wires?? How's the performance?? What about the price???

Yes, how about an answer to the question at hand? Anyway, I have noticed some differences with the cams, You lose a little in the low end, and throttle response, but what you gain is noticed around 2500 rpms, and it's smooth all the way up to 7000. I' am happy with the cams, engine is smoother and much faster in the upper end of the power band. As far as Injen is concerened, they have the dyno numbers from my car on their website. They offered me a free intake for coming down and letting them dyno test my car. Injen is a great company, and they are the only intake company who's products are dyno tested. If you are really interested in there intake contact me because I ended up with 2 intakes from the visit, and might be willing to part with the other one. Now, the wing, if all you want is a picture of the wing go to wings west website and they have a pic of the wing on their MP3, I want have pics on the web for a little while, sorry.

ohhh.. ok da yellow mp3 man... i wasnt sure if it was that spoiler or not... I'm goin w/ the whole kit minus the wing =) I like our stock wing... but yah.. i didnt realize that was the skyline series wing.... anyway... I'll email about a price on that intake =) i appreciate the help

The only difference I know of between the 2 is that the Magnecor wires are 8.5mm, and the sparkco wires are 9.2mm. But I'm not sure if it is better to have bigger wires or not?? Does anyone know what the size difference means as far as performance and duration?

Size of the wire doesn't mean nothing. We have to make our wires in 9.2mm because we need a better insulation. Our wires are make by three cores wire inside ( Tri-core ), and is very low in resistance, therefore, we need better insulation.

The quality of the core, the silicon jacket ( the material and compound of the silicon ), and the resistance of the wire make the major different compare one brand to another.

The only down side of wires for the Protege 5 or MP3 is you can only replace two of them...There isn't much gain from that.

But, I can guarantee you will feel a different ONLY by changing these 2 wires.

The wires are guaranteed to produce more power? Or what kind of difference are we talking??

It is worth !!!!

Thank you & wellcome you ( DA Yellow MP3 MAN ) to join our team. Remember, we, Sparkco, Engineered to Sustain.......

What about you ( StuttersC ), you want to give us a try?? Contact me at any time if you need more detail or information on our wires.

You will find the engine is running more smooth, low end torque increases and better fuel consumption. Trust me, it is worth to change these 2 wires into our Sparkco 9,2mm.

Any member out there had put on our wires?? Please write your comment, thanks!

I'll have to think about it. Thatnks for the invite, but I am still a little skeptical that two wires will make that big of a difference.

I will think about it. I try to keep an open mind about this stuff.

I ordered my Saturday from Enry, hopefully I'll get them before my License suspenion goes in effect

what is all the hype about wires

Please read the discussion title:

"Sparkco Wires on MP3"

There is a great discussion going on explaining that wires will probably not help you at all. Unless of course your insulation on the ones you have now are toast.

Beware of people claiming their wires are better because of multiple core wires. And if they do claim this ask what the three differet materials are that make up the cores. Then ask them the resistivity of those particular materials. And if they are able to give you that information which they probably wont, then calculate what the resistance change really is between the old and new wires are.

Read the other discussion on plug wires. The wire is not the problem. The main issue that comes up with plug wires is when your insulation deteriorates so that an arc between the wire inside and a conductive material like the vavle cover occurs.

Save your money for a turbo if you want to go faster. Plug wires are nothing more than a placebo effect. But hey if you like the sugar pills then go for it. BUt I personally dont have money to waste on wire that are not needed.

I think that you are comparing apples with giant oranges. "Save your money for a turbo ?"

Wires will give you a small improvement for a small amount of money (40$). A turbo will give you a large improvement for a large amount of money (1000 to 2000 $).

It is not the same financial investement, and therefore you do not get the same performance enhancement.

Just my 2 cents
