winter tires

I think I'll end up with the Xice3 in 195/55-15. I'm hoping that given how light the 2 is they aren't too horribly mushy performance-wise when it's not snowing.

I could make the old stock tires scream, these new X-ice's just make a rubbing noise when I take a hard corner. They seem to be a lot softer but they stick to dry or wet pavement like glue!

I was able to get some 185 X-Ice Xi2s from my dealership. So far I have found them to be fantastic. Even on dry pavement they don't feel floaty like the X-Ices on the Camry and Corolla I used to drive. Maybe it's because the 2 weighs a lot less, lol. Anyway, they're awesome on snow, I was able to get some sick snow dorifto action going on without ever feeling like I lost control.

Also, gotta love how Mazda included a DSC off button. Winter isn't any fun if you can't get sideways. :P

I could not get Nokian Haka R in my size so I settled for the Michelins. The Blizzaks are good winter tires. WS60 and ws70 come in sizes that work. Tire Rack has them. If you call, ask for Rudy. He knows his stuff.
